Tallula recently wrangled with a virus.
A nasty, throw-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night kind of virus.
It was not pretty around here.
But there was an upside.
Our girl showed her mellower side. Sick yes, sweet baby. But oh-so-wonderfully mellowwwww.
She’s all better now, thank goodness.
Running around.
Shouting her most recently mastered sentences: “Put that back!”, “Go ‘way!” and “Don’t want to!”
But there are a few remnants of that softer side. Moments when she would rather snuggle up to me than run off and tackle her sister. Moments that she is content to lay next to her brother instead of grabbing his toy and promptly running off.
Enjoying these snippets of a more mellow girl for now. But always aware that a firestorm might be just around the bend.
And embracing them both.

Oh Steph, it’s so sad when they are sick, yet so sweet with all the cuddles we get. Such soft touching shots. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet girl. Glad she is feeling better. And, I love it when my little firecrackers are sick too. Not because they are sick. Sheesh. I sound all mean. ๐ I love the quiteness and the snuggles.

Adorable. I don’t know how you have time to do anything else by kiss cheeks around there, because seriously, all your kids are about the cutest things I’ve ever seen, well, besides my kids. ๐

Hahahaha! I know a child who was EXACTLY like that; we loved when he was sick (well, you know what I mean…in terms of his cuddly, calm behavior). When he was sick, he actually needed us..the rest of the time we kind of cramped his independent style :/ Anyway, if it gives you some hope I’ll tell you that he is now a very mellow, totally calm, and very wonderful 20 year old, but we honestly thought he might be the end of us….for years! I’m glad for her that she is feeling better, but it sounds like your quiet rest is over!

Hehe, I’m glad the virus is gone, but, like you said, something good came out of that nasty situation. ๐
