    • Sunday Snapshot

my week.

It’s been a tough week. For several reasons.

Eight of my kids are in varying stages of sickness.

The good news is – I have not succumbed yet.

The best news is – this sickness includes fever and cough only. No surprise excretions that compound sickness into a laundry/cleaning nightmare.

My laptop had a most unfortunate run-in with a bottle of bubbles.

The culprit, believe-it-or-not, was Poppy. She was trying to open the foil on the top of the bottle and it toppled over onto keyboard.

Honestly, I still can’t believe it. Had she not admitted it, I would have my doubts.

Oh, how quickly they fall.

And – the toughest part of this already exhausting week – my beloved dog of more than 15 years is failing fast.

She has put up with more ear-pulling, eye-poking and paw-stomping than any dog should. And she’s braved it well. Hasn’t bitten a single kid, despite her probable inclination otherwise.

She’s been on the decline in the last 6 months but all of a sudden it feels like the most loving thing to do for her is to alleviate her from any more suffering.

And, man oh man, sometimes love is really, really hard.

All that to say, I will be back tomorrow with a Sunday Snapshot. Because my Sunday is wide open now, I’m not exposing my church to this sickly crew. I’ll be watching the sermon online, with my old dog on my lap.

So sorry it’s been such a week! 🙁 One of those things on their own is tough enough to deal with… All three scenarios?! Yuck! I’m so sorry for the decisions you are having to make regarding your dog, too. We’ve lost a couple beloved dogs over the years and it NEVER gets easier for me… I still tear up seeing photos of them! I’m praying for you, and your whole sick crew!

So sorry to hear about your dog.

It does appear your laptop survived so that is good news.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Hang in there. We have the same bug. I got it from the kids 2 days ago. My youngest has been fighting that fever since Thursday and it won’t go away! Poor thing turns 8 on Wednesday and really wants to go back to school for her party. Hope you stay well and the kids recover quickly! I’m sorry about your sweet doggie.
