I missed those big feet.
And everything that’s connected to ’em.
He got home late last night. After being away for 28 days.
28 loooong days that he’s been in Birmingham, at his new job at Lifeline.
Yeah, he’s been gone for all the sickness, craziness, and heartbreak of the last few weeks.
I didn’t say anything here because, well… y’all are my friends. But this is still the internet.
Enough said.
Now that he’s home, I can busy myself with thoughts other than feeding, bathing, clothing, cleaning up after and generally wrangling our brood.
Like cleaning out the burned up bits in the bottom of my toaster oven. Organizing my various and sundry junk drawers. And pulling up couch cushions to find enough crumbs and change to feed and support a small army.
Amazing how knowing a bunch of strangers – who are going to descend upon your house in less than 24 hours to pack it all up into little boxes – makes you want to organize, clean and purge. Stat.
Better than any espresso, baby.
And I’m going to take full advantage of it.

Happy Sunday, y’all.
I understand. Two years ago my husband was in Northern New England for six months while we were in the Midwest. he came home for two weeks and them came to our home here 9deep South) for three months while we were still in the Midwest. I said nothing about it on my blog either.
Home sweet home or “borta bra men hemma bäst” like we here in Finland say.
Good luck with the last bit of the packing! 🙂
sending so many prayers and wishing you traveling mercies and sleepy kids ALL THE WAY HOME!!!
It is so hard when hubby/daddy is gone and 28 days is a long time!! Good luck with the rest of your move, cant wait to see ya settle in your new place. 🙂
Cute blog! & cute family! We have a big family too, so we love ’em! 🙂
Thinking about you guys this week!! Moving is rough, and I’m sure you are exhausted. Hope you are all enjoying a happy Easter!!
Glad he’s back! 28 days is a long time! Prayers for safe travels and an easy move!
I CANNOT believe you did all that without him…well, ahem, YES I CAN….you completely amaze me, Lady and if anyone can do it YOU can.
So glad BIG DADDY’s home….I’ll bet he missed every one of those tiny (and BIG) and painted toenail feet of all of his babies (and their Mama most of all!) xoxo
