So excited about all y’all who have signed up to join me in studying The Reason for God by Timothy Keller. If you haven’t heard, I posted all about it here, with some great resources to learn more about the book.
I’ve received emails from several of y’all who want to join in but worry that you might not ‘fit’. Either not old enough, not Christian enough or not spiritual enough. I’ve replied to those emails, but in case anyone else is feeling that way, know this – anyone is welcome to join. At least anyone that is willing to follow a few simple rules: be committed to completing the study, be genuine in your participation and be kind in your responses.
The responses so far have been all over the map – from those who are not-so-sure-I’m-a-Chrisitan to those who have walked away from their faith to those who simply want to know Him more. And I couldn’t be more excited about that… what a beautiful cross-section we will be! I am praying for some enlightening, Holy Spirit-led conversations in our future.
Many of y’all have expressed an interest in this study to become a better defender of your faith. And I’m super excited about too, as this is an area in which I feel the Lord leading me to grow. We are told to have an answer for our faith, and I have found myself lacking. And this book seems to be just the ticket.
Lots of good stuff ahead, I just know it.
The study starts here on May 14th, when I’ll share a post on Chapter One of The Reason for God. Which gives you about a week to get the book and another week to start reading. We’ll cover one chapter a week. I’ll post here and that’s where y’all come in. I am looking forward to lots of participation from those of y’all who have committed to studying the book with me.
If you want to participate but haven’t jumped in yet, you can find the short-but-necessary questionnaire here.
P.S. A reminder that if you want to participate in this study, but can’t afford to buy the book, please let me know via comment or email. A sweet friend has offered to help – she’d love to purchase the book for you if you can’t buy it yourself.
