Last Tuesday we watched an 18 wheeler drive away with all of our earthly possessions. Less a few things we brought along for the few days we thought we’d be without.
And we thought we’d see it – and all our stuff – again on Friday. But things were delayed.
Since then, I’ve learned a few things.
I can make a grilled cheese, Ramen noodles and cheese dip in a wok.
An old couch + being completely exhausted + 800mg ibuprofen = a pretty decent night’s sleep.
A week away from blogging, email and Facebook was pretty liberating.
A rained out Easter egg hunt does not an Easter failure make – Jesus accomplished everything at Calvary and that has nothing to do with chocolate bunnies.
Stuff doesn’t make a house a home. But it sure adds to the fun.
Truck should be arriving any minute… can’t wait to squeeze my pillow-top mattress.
Stuff doesn’t make a house a home, but I hope your stuff comes soon.
Aside from having to do without the pillow top mattress, that empty room is pretty cool.
I’m glad you are all safe and sound. I won’t say that I worried, but I did miss you and your posts. ๐
Stuff is overrated ๐ But definitely helpful! Glad to hear you all made it safely and are in-process of settling. Can’t wait to see more pics of your new home with your “stuff” in it! Seamus looks proud of the situation…
I’ve been wondering about you guys, too! Your new house looks beautiful.
LOOK at all those windows and that light, Stefanie! Fingers crossed that your things are with you now!

I am really hope that by the time you get this message you have had a chance to hug that pillow top. Maybe even chill on it for a few min. Moving can be tough.
Glad I found your cute blog!
Happy Day!
Jenny
You are going to think I’m crazy. But were you buying sub sandwiches today at Publix?? Because if you were, the Publix you were at is about, oh 15-20 minutes maybe from my house. But it’s about 3 minutes from my office at work. I was in line behind you. I actually was thinking about so many other things but sort-of recognized your son. I mean not really recognized him, but thought “hmm he looks familiar”. And then some lady behind me asked about your shirt, and you showed her the back and it said “Wild Olive Tees” and my mind still didn’t put it together. I *almost* said “Hey, I know who the person is who sells those”. But after I got in my car and drove off, I realized why your son looked familiar and who you were. I was out of the parking lot already, but I almost turned around and went back to introduce myself. But you wouldn’t have been leaving then and if I had to chase your car down, um, that might look like stalking. So I didn’t. But if you were NOT in my neck-of-the-woods buying public sandwiches today you can sort of delete this post so everyone won’t know how crazy I am! ๐ But if you were, welcome to the neighborhood!
This comment makes me laugh!! But I have to say I’m jealous that you kind of met Stefanie!
I know it’s crazy. ๐ I just wish I would have put it together while we were actually standing there and would have said something.
That was me, DeEtte! We were buying lunch for the movers – and that Publix is the closest to us. Wish you’d have come back in and said ‘hey’, what a crazy small world, huh?!
yes, crazy, small world! Now that I know you’re close, I’m going to message you some info on FB. Later – after I get kids in bed. Welcome!! ๐
LOL!! Your post is hilarious! Not wanting to be a stalker! LOL!!
Is that your first prayer group meeting there? Dogs included?
You could just kinda see it as an extension of Lent – fasting your stuff….
Hope it comes soon…
Hilarious comment! Does look like prayer meeting, and yes, they would be fasting the “stuff”!
Look at those beautiful windows and all that light! You will be in photography paradise! :-). Hope you get settled in soon.
I love that picture so much! Your kids huddled around with your dog looking like she’s standing guard…love it.
Ahh, your posts are making me face the reality of our upcoming move (courtesy of the USAF). Moving is hard sometimes. Hope you get settled in quickly and find many creative projects with all your cardboard boxes!
The light, look at the light.
I hope the move in went smoothly!
Oh God Bless you! It sounds challenging BUT attitude is everything and you have done well!!
Soon enough things will be back to normal!
YOU CAN DO THIS!!
and I also had to chuckle at the comment above!
If your stuff doesn’t show up, I’ll ship you some of mine …. I have too much and wish someone would lose it for me! ๐
But, to be completely honest, I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed the Sunday Snapshots until there wasn’t one to see. Glad to see you survived your adventure! ๐ (And I’m jealous of all the windows, I would love to set a backdrop up in that room!)
Morning Stef – looking at everyone in the picture – I’m thinking all the “stuff” you need is already there! ๐
But yeah – it would be good if the truck came soon…beds are good….!
And I love it when we get that object lesson about Easter!!!
hugs – great joy for you guys –
aus and co.
Such fun memories, kids + empty house = fun indoor camping!
