Lula is 4.
And that might not sound like such a big deal.
But it’s been a long, loooooong time since my littlest has been 4.
When Zach was 4, I was pregnant with Asher.
And ever since then, I’ve had at least one little one under 4.
Technically, all my kiddos will be school-aged in just a few years.
Ha.
There is something to be said about parenting as a more *ahem* mature mama.
Age and experience have mellowed me.
Rounded off some sharp edges.
Taught be to let some things go.
I am learning, as the days slip by, to be more purposeful. Patient. Persistent in loving on my little ones while they are still little.
Of course, age does have a downside.
I’m not as fast as I used to be.
I’m not as energetic as I used to be – at least not without copious amounts of caffeine.
But I think that actually suits my kids just fine. Especially my wild(er) ones, like Miss Tallula.
Because I’m a whole lot easier to outrun.
Happy Birthday, baby girl. I am so glad I get to be your mama.
love!!!!
Happy Birthday Lula!!!! What a blessing you are for that special Mama of yours.. I bet your first 4 year old birthday cake wasn’t as pretty ast that one!!!!!!! Celebrating with you! ~Diana
oh my goodness– same boat– my youngest will turn 4 this august and i was just thinking– we’ve never had our youngest be so old! nat was 17 months when i had luke– he was 2.5 when we brought amy home- she was 2.5 when we brought ben home, he was 3.5 when we brought noah home and noah was 3.5 when matthew came home– it’s a whole new era– no toddlers– just preschoolers and schoolers– 5 out of my 6 are now homeschooled- loving my youngest and where he is now 🙂
Happy birthday and best wishes for many more.
Happy Birthday darling girl!!! You are such a little sparkler!!! God Bless you on this day and on every day to come!!!
I get it… I’m 55 soon to be- well, I’ll just stop right there! I’m having a bit of a hard time with my youngest being 5 going on 6 and my whole crew of 7 yr olds are turning 8. Once again, it is going by WAY. TO. FAST… My calculations say you have time to still bring home some babies! I know… I’m a bad influence- I’ve been told that before 😉
Happy Birthday to you sweet Lula!
Happy 4th Birthday Lula! You are so cute and your birthday cake looks so yummy!
Happy Birthday to miss Lulu! I am with Jean! I want to bring one more home. Hubby thinks we are too old. He is 48 and I am 42! I am working on Roman.
Happy Birthday Lula!!!
Love the bunny mask – looks like y’all had a lot of good fun! I’ve never had children, but reading about it from all of you, my guess is the only way to survive, young or more mature, is to pray through and enjoy them in the moment. How blessed you are!
Stefanie-
A few years ago, Wild Olive did fundraising for the Sexton family who were adopting domestically. Do you still remember the URL to their blog? I would love to be able to check in on if they have their daughter yet.
Thank you!
I don’t have it, Emily – sorry!
Happy birthday, baby girl! I can’t seem to get my eyes off that cake!!
Oh how I can relate! Bonus round parenting. Wiser but less energy. And a lot more coffee. Happy Birthday sweet girl! Go east on Mama <3
