…………………….
So Loved. I’m reminded every day. One ayi or another will walk past in the home and I’ll catch a glimpse. A flash of bright flower… the scrawl of words printed across the front. So Loved. So. Loved. So very loved.
Beyond the shirts, I see it in her eyes – “So Loved” streaming out when she grabs her little one and smothers her cheeks with kisses. I see it in her hands, as she pig-tails little heads and slips in bows just right. I hear it in her voice, as she rocks, rocks, rocks to sleep… and sings that song once more.
So loved. So loved. There is so much love here.
These shirts represent so much in our home – to our kids. They speak of hope. Of faith. Of healed little hearts. They brought unspeakable hope to baby Kate and to our beautiful Joy – providing the heart surgeries so desperately needed. Beyond even that, they stand for much more – and the “So Loved” refrain has become the beat of this home.
An ayi sits up all night, in that hospital bed, So Loved there in the dark. Keeping watch. Straightening tubes. Stroking hair – “Shh, little one, it’s alright. You are so loved – and we’ll make it home soon”.
An ayi waits for the train – the train bringing another broken heart our way. Her shirt greets our new little one – “Welcome, sweet boy. Welcome. You are so loved here. We can’t wait to watch your hope unfold”.
An ayi walks around our home, straightening shelves. Wiping trays. Stacking books. So Loved, bending and kneeling, putting action to words, and she scrubs at the floor.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor 13:13). May we always fight for hope – and stand firm in faith – and never ever forget to be Love. We love? Because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
These shirts have become a picture of hope – bringing life-saving surgeries and uniting hearts around the world. But even more? They have postured us to love – a reminder for each thought, every action, all our words. So Loved. So very loved.
Join us.
Wear and remember Great Love this Christmas season – and help bring hope and healing to a brave little heart so broken.
Love,
Meredith
