This girl is fun on a regular day. But on a day like her birthday? With cake and candles and balloons and cousins and presents?
She loved every one of her presents: glittery Toms, a new backpack, some Signing Time DVDs and a tiny Asian family.
But when it was time to move on to the cake, she was ready.
We made a teeny tiny cake just for her, hoping she might poke it and prod it and taste it – enjoying all the fun (and mess) that can be had when you’re the birthday girl.
We barely got the candles out of the cake before she plopped both hands right in and squished. By the time I had my camera in hand, that tiny cake was history.
And the birthday girl was oh-so-happy.
Thankfully we also had cupcakes. Because cake demolition can make a girl hungry. Clementine proceeded to manhandle the icing right off several cupcakes, leaving the actual cupcakes behind.
A girl has got to prioritize.
And when you’re the birthday girl, you get to prioritize however your heart desires.
Oh Clementine. It is such fun to celebrate you.
This mama simply cannot adequately express how completely and overwhelmingly we adore you. You make our little corner of the world a much better place.
Happy Birthday, my little love.
