I have always loved Thanksgiving.
Gathering family from near and far around the table to enjoy the yummiest food of the year.
And celebrating all the good things while tracing them all back to His hand.
This year we had some especially good stuff to celebrate.
Six months home with Magnolia.
In that short time we’ve witnessed her receiving and recovering from heart-mending surgery. And so much unseen work He has been doing to heal some of the deepest parts of her heart.
Thanksgiving also marked two years home with our Clementine. And all the victories – big and little – that she’s accomplished since then.
This holiday season we are intent on celebrating God, and the way He has and continues to weave our family – stitch by beautiful stitch. And thanking Him for not only giving us the desire to follow Him, but the courage to take each step of obedience, even when we think we’d rather not.
Because apart from Him, the tapestry of our family would be a dim shadow of what it is today.
And I’m so very thankful that I don’t have to think long on just how less lovely (and fun, and crazy, and wonderful) it would be.
His plans are so good.
Can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.
