In China, the Chinese New Year celebration begins seven days before Chinese New Year’s Eve, and ends on the 15th day of the lunar year.
This year, Chinese New Year fell on January 28th and lasted until February 11th – a date also known as the Lantern Festival.
Which means that, even though Chinese New Year was officially several weeks ago, this post is not nearly as late as it seems.
We love Chinese traditional clothing around here. So much so that I have made a concerted effort each time I’ve been to China to purchase something new for at least a few of my babies.
Unfortunately, it’s become increasingly difficult to find… and almost impossible to find for our boys.
But for our girls, we’ve accumulated a little stash of lovelies – dresses, pant sets and accessories.
And Chinese New Year is the perfect reason to dig into it.
Thankfully no one is too particular on fit or color or style.
And with this bunch? Fun was definitely had. Silks, dumplings and mooncake cookies to help celebrate this most-special of all Chinese holidays.
Zhōngguó xīnnián kuàilè, friends.
Happy Year of the Rooster.
