A Pig Party

Spring ushers in a flurry of birthdays in our family. Three in the span of 19 days.

First Magnolia. Then Tallula.

And then, Clementine.

If you’ve been around here for long you know… birthdays are Clementine’s favorite.

Whether it’s her birthday – or someone else’s – it doesn’t really matter… the girl loves to birthday-party.

Of course, when she’s the one being celebrated, that’s the best birthday party of all.

We chose gifts we thought she’d love based on all the things she currently loves…

tutus…

painting…

ponies…

sensory play…

and music.

(This karaoke microphone was an unbelievable hit. It can play any playlist on any linked device – you cannot imagine the cuteness that ensued when her new microphone started pumping out Can’t Stop the Feeling…)

And no party is complete without a cake. This was where we wanted to get her to choose, despite the fact that she’d really rather not.

In an effort to make it as fun as possible, we took her to WalMart and, one by one, paraded all the kid-themed party decor we even imagined she’d like right there in the middle of the party aisle.
Minnie Mouse.
Tru and the Rainbow Kingdom.
My Little Pony.
Shopkins.
Trolls.
Spiderman.
Paw Patrol.
and on.

The winner? Daddy Pig. Not Peppa Pig, but daddy, her very favorite-y favorite cartoon pig ever.

And what’s a mom to do but get all the Daddy Pig things and make a Daddy Pig cake and serve it on Daddy Pig plates?

Bring on the pig.

Gathering together to celebrate this girl is such a reminder of the unimaginable beauty in God’s plan for our family when He blessed us with her.

And what an overwhelming privilege and joy it is to be the one she calls mama.

Happy Birthday, Clementine. You truly bring joy wherever you go.
