This was one I took for my last Sunday Snapshot post. But I didn’t post it, because it just didn’t seem to fit. It’s a softer side of Asher. And although he might not be one of his favorites, it’s one of mine. For more Friday favorites, visit my friend Lisa’s blog, The Long Road to China.
I missed Sunday Snapshot this week. And even though the linky expired two days ago, I’m still gonna post it. Better late than never, right? Because I just have to share the cuteness of my just-turned-thirteen-year-old. In all his adorable, goofy, boyishness. This last year has brought about some pretty big changes for him. Homeschool. Daniel Plan. Buzz cut. All,… Read More
Told y’all I’d keep you updated. Today marks 4 months. 4 months since Chris, Asher and I, along with our entire church, went on the Daniel Fast. Asher – days before we started the fast Not gonna lie, those first days were hard. No coffee, no sugar, no preservatives. Pretty much no nothin’. But God showed up in a huge… Read More
Monday morning. After getting up at 5:30, this is what Asher – and his trusty homeschooling sidekick, Seamus – looked like 2 hours later. Good thing he has a teacher that can appreciate the value of a nap.
This week’s Sunday Snapshot is all Asher. After all, he’s gone through pretty big changes lately. Started homeschooling. And got his smile back. Joined his dad and me on the Daniel Fast. He’d been contemplating it for months. And he finally took the plunge. And hasn’t looked back since. Not sure if it’s the homeschooling. Or the fasting. Or just that he wants to look more like his dad. But, whatever the reason, I’m proud of him for resisting his fear to try something new. Something new and – as far as… Read More
Some of y’all have asked how the homeschooling-thing is going. And, since I’ve got a whole three whole months under my belt, I thought I’d give a quick update. The truth is, it’s going great. Really great. I am honestly surprised at how much Asher is enjoying homeschooling. But even more, I am surprised how much I am enjoying homeschooling…. Read More
I knew it would happen. I just didn’t think it would happen before he became a teenager. Asher officially wears a size 13 shoe. As big as his daddy wears. And Chris has some seriously big feet.
Here are my favorite photos of 2011. In chronological order. 1. Sophie Lu in her silks at Chinese New Year. 2. Vivienne loving the snow. 3. Asher, growing up. I thought he seemed big in this picture but man, has he grown since then. 4. Remembering – and missing – Esther. 5. Chris at his fini flight getting soaked. Much… Read More
