For all of one week, my husband was married to a younger woman. Then it was my turn. Forget the cheesecake and the ice cream cake. I wanted a girly cake. And – thanks to my beloved oldest child – a girly cake is what I got. I also got 11 handmade cards, created just for me by each of… Read More
…still partying …
And, one day after Isabelle turned 10, my husband turned 46. Not quite as exciting. But my mom, niece and nephews were visiting, and some partying definitely took place. Many, many handmade cards were read. Presents were opened. Turtle cheesecake was consumed. Fun was had. And it was good.
we’ve been partying
Asher’s birthday in June kicks off almost a month of birthdays. Asher. Isabelle. Chris. And mine. Packed into 23 short days. And, despite the fact that I continue to run behind in getting these celebratory pictures posted, I’m determined. Because really, if you can’t publish a bunch of posts featuring relatively mundane birthday pictures on your own blog, what’s it… Read More
he’s 15
Happy Birthday, Asher. Granted, this post is over a month late, but my lack of posting is no reflection of my lack of love. Because this boy makes me smile. He’s one year 11 months away from driving. And less than 3 years away from being officially an “adult”. He’s 6′ tall and wears a size 14 shoe. But he’s… Read More
this Easter
Yep, I know. Easter was over a week ago. I’ve got some catching up to do. And so catch up, I shall hope to do. This Easter was spent with our church family. We had an Easter festival of sorts, complete with face painting, numerous egg hunts, a bouncy house, snow cones, egg decorating, ring toss and cake walk. We… Read More
two years with Tallula
Two years, y’all. Not only is my baby 4 now, but she’s been home for 2 years. I posted about her being home one year, and it feels like that was just a few months ago. I’ve heard it said that time goes by faster and faster as you get older… guess that makes me really old. What can I… Read More
my baby is 4
Lula is 4. And that might not sound like such a big deal. But it’s been a long, loooooong time since my littlest has been 4. Like 15 years, y’all. When Zach was 4, I was pregnant with Asher. And ever since then, I’ve had at least one little one under 4. Technically, all my kiddos will be school-aged in… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: 8
Today Jude turned 8. Already. We headed out after church to buy supplies for the big celebration. Because what the birthday boy wants, the birthday boy gets. As long as this mama can buy it at Target. His choice for dinner was bratwurst and homemade french fries. Dessert was yellow cake with red icing and birthday blast ice cream. Served… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: 19
Yep. He’s turning 19. Already. Currently soldiering through his first year of college. Still trying to figure out his major. His whole future ahead of him. Gah. Makes a mother’s insides sort of wobbly – having her baby out there in this big, crazy world. But that’s what love does. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy Birthday,… Read More
this Christmas
… we wanted to have a different kind of Christmas. Weeks before Christmas I asked for ideas on how to make Jesus the focus. Not gifts. Or glitter. And oh my, y’all did not disappoint. P.S. If you haven’t read this post, and want wonderful ideas for next Christmas, you really should. And so, at the beginning of December we… Read More
