Ahhh, the Christmas cookie. I'd love to be able to call this a Christmas tradition. But it's not.It's really more of an excuse- for- mama- to- indulge- her- sweet- tooth- and- justify- it sort of a thing.With bonus points for me because the kids think I'm a stinkin' rock star for buying all those yummy candies for decorating.Oh, how easy to deceive.We start out with some basics: sugar cookie dough in a big pre-packaged hunk. Ahhh, Isabelle.She was and continues to be my mystery.I feel like she and I are connected at the very soul, yet I often find myself straining to understand her.To know her.Lately, she's decided she wants to be a baby again.She sleeps with a picture of herself at 11 months, taken on her 'gotcha day', propped on her bedside table. First, let me just say this...The snow has descended upon us.And it's a beautiful thing.My boys thought so too. Jude doesn't like to be cornered. So I knew my efforts to capture him for this Sunday Snapshot post would have to be cunning.Fast.And in his own element.So I took him to the playroom.And he was happy.Jude came home at 19 months, in the summer of 2007. Ahhh Dalton.He is not easy to photograph.Sitting for the camera is not one of his favorite pastimes.And smiling? No thank you. Miss Sophie Lu.She is 5 going on 25.Sophie came home at 27 months old. Even then, she seemed 'grown up'.Wise beyond her years.She still is.She loves to ask questions. And one question just leads to another. Her curiosity is insatiable.As you might imagine, she absolutely adores school. Hanging out at the house is just so boring. Sunday snapshot: Asher

Asher means "happy" in Hebrew. If ever a child truly embodied his name, it would be my boy.He is happy.And he makes me happy.He loves sweets. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that I craved cherry pie filling during my entire pregnancy.I must have eaten a lot of said cherry pie filling because Asher weighed almost a pound and a half more than any of my other kiddos.And he's still big.
