It’s busy around here. Crazy in fact. I was trying to talk with a lovely woman today about flights for Shepherd once we bring him home and begin his treatment in Iowa. I am hopeful that we will be able to use Miracle Flights to travel to and from Iowa once a week, thereby avoiding the month -long sick fest that was last summer. In case you weren’t following our story last summer, we spent one month in Iowa City to have Jude’s clubfoot treated. All in all, it was completely worth it. But I tell you, in one month, I probably aged 5 years. Won’t go into it much more (flashbacks, ya know) but suffice it to say, I’m doing everything in my power to avoid that this summer. It would be me and children aged 1, 2, 4, 4, 6 and 9. One in huge plaster casts. All in one room with no husband. I’d do it if I had to, but if I don’t have to (please, Lord, say I don’t have to!) then I certainly won’t. So, the hopeful plan will be to fly up to Iowa City weekly for Shepherd’s cast changes, while the kiddos stay behind with daddy.
Okay, so back to my story, which was going to be short, and it did have a point… so I was talking to this very nice lady and she was trying to give me some paperwork to fill out, and she was telling me who needed to sign what and what doctor needed to fax her this and that. And I went blank. Like a big dummy. I had to stop her and ask her to start over, even though I had been taking notes. I felt like a kindergardener. Scary. And sad. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come 😉

No, no, no! NOT blank… your mind is in overdrive!! You’ve got 5 bazillion things going on up there & number one on the list is wrapping your arms around that sweet Shepherd…SOON!!
Make sure to take some time for yourself too!! A wonderful momma like you needs some pampering too! (I know, easier said than done, right?)

Oh Wow! Flashbacks to finals week in college where I would begin to forget my own name! That overloaded brain is a scary thing! 🙂
Good luck on everything and the pictures of Shepard are wonderful!

Oh Stephanie—I go blank daily! Sometimes in the middle of a sentence. Eat some blueberries…it is supposed to help. The hubs baked me a whole pie!
