known by heart: 5 really good reasons to get one

We are almost 4 weeks in and 711 Known By Heart shirts are spoken for. Pictures have been popping up on FB and IG and I can’t tell you how big and crinkle-y my smile gets when I get to see the sweet faces that are helping us bring home our precious Magnolia.

*crinkle*

With 711 shirts gone and a total of 840 ordered, that leaves us sold out of most sizes. And with mounting requests for more, we’ve decided to go all in and place another order. Not only are we going all in, but we’re going slightly overboard. But for good reason.

Several good reasons, in fact.

Reason #1: PINK

I usually throw a few different colored shirts in when I place an order for a new shirt and this time was no exception. Pink was the choice because… well, it’s my favorite. And it turned out so darn cute I want to give y’all a chance to get a pink one for yourselves (and your girls) too.

The pink version is printed on the same shirts as the navy and black versions, just in pink – so the ladies’ shirt has a slightly heathered appearance, and the girls’ version does not. Here you can see the color difference between the two pinks – the color of the ladies’ shirt is Vintage Pink and the girls’ is Raspberry.

What they have in common is that they’re adorable.

Reason #2: SMALL PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE, TOO

Our printer wasn’t sure if the big print would fit on the size 2T but it did, and adorably, too. (No picture yet, sorry!) So we are now offering the pink, navy and black all in teeny-tiny size 2T. Yay! It’s actually about as wide as the girls’ 4/5, but quite a bit shorter.

Here is the girls’ version, in a 4/5, on Miss Tallula.

And here it is on Victoria. As you can see, the ladies’ version is a heathered navy – Vintage Navy is what they call it and I think the heathered is perfect for the slightly-worn looking graphic.

And, not to leave anyone out, we will include the black again, too. Like the other colors, the ladies’ version is a heathered black and the girls’ version is not.

Honestly, I kinda love the black. And the way it looks with my girls’ black hair.

But I kinda like the way anything looks with my girls’ black hair.

Reason #3: THE BASEBALL SHIRT

Because they just look good on everyone, amiright? I added this to the order on a whim and I think it might have turned out to be my very favorite – love the colors together.

This shirt is a UNISEX tee in black with heathered grey sleeves and is sized similarly to the Classic shirts. I’ve added this shirt to the sizing chart included on the form but if it helps, I wear a L in the Ladies’ Fitted and wear either an XS or a S in this shirt comfortably. It runs a little shorter than the fitted shirts and a smidge wider, too.

Super cute, huh?

Reason #4: OUR GIRL IS WAITING

Those that know me know I am a card-carrying introvert and asking for anything is not my fave. But there is nothing I wouldn’t do, including jumping into this fundraising effort with both feet, and shouting it from the rooftops. Because each day that goes by is one day closer to the day we get the call that it’s time to go get our girl.

And this mama is ready.

So, are you ready? We’ve done our best to make it as simple as possible to participate.

1. Complete the short form here with your name, donation amount, mailing address and color and size shirt(s) you’d like. It even has sizing charts included to make it as easy as possible. Because easy = good.

2. Then go over to our You Caring page to make your donation.

3. And then share, tweet, and text to help us spread the word. (This one is optional, of course.)

Reason #5: MORNING STAR

11 precious babies at Morning Star, with hearts similar to our Magnolia’s, are getting loved on and nurtured in every way. (Have y’all see that precious Lilah Lu who just arrived? Oh my heart!) 20% of the proceeds from this effort will go directly to Morning Star to help them do what they do so well – love on these babies until it is time to let them go to their forever families.

We have a little over 100 shirts available now, all other shirts ordered will be on a preorder basis and will ship in approximately 4 weeks (preordered shirts are clearly noted on the form). Which means we have only 2 weeks to do this thing. Orders will close on March 2nd so I can get them ordered and shipped by mid-March.

Just think about all the birthdays you’ll need gifts for this year. Think Easter (forget the frock, anyone?) Heck, think Christmas. So many giving opportunities – we’ve got four colors and a plethora of sizes to choose from.

And the coolest part is how much you’ll be blessing others with your gift-giving… our family, and the bravely beautiful Morning Star family, too.

Truly a gift that keeps on giving <3
