Ph, brave girl.
As we left the Civil Affairs office, the tears came. Thankfully the van ride back to the hotel proved to be a great distraction, most likely due to her silly siblings, all trying their very best to make her smile.
But after the silly subsided, and we got settled at the hotel, she was understandably serious again. Gosh, I can’t even imagine all the thoughts that must have been going through her barely two-year-old head…
Cue the bubbles.
Because they really are universally irresistible.
At first she just watched, those big eyes taking it all in.
But Miss Clementine knew what to do.
Run around, arms flailing wildly and giggling incessantly, trying to pop every last one.
Welcome to the crazy, Magnolia.
Soon she was out of the chair, inching closer.
Then, just like that, she was joining Clementine in the running and the popping.
Then she smiled.
And we all breathed a joyful sigh of relief. That, at least for the moment, she felt safe enough to express a little happiness.
And then she smiled more. And laughed the sweetest baby belly laugh.
Okay, we melted a lot.
Welcome tiny one. Brave certainly looks beautiful on you.
