I’m all packed and as ready as I’ll ever be! I must admit, my stomach is in knots. Nervous knots and excited knots. I know what to expect as far as the adoption trip goes, but I have no idea what to expect as far as adopting a toddler. I have mixed emotions about gotcha day. I have been looking forward to this day for SO long, the day I could finally hold my sweet Sophie and tell her how much I have been anticipating being her momma at long last. But this day will be a sad and frightening day for her. She will be taken from the only home she’s ever known and the only momma she’s ever known and thrust into the arms of a stranger.
Please pray for us, for her especially, that she would feel safe and loved by me. That I would have the patience and endurance to be able to comfort her. I am hopeful that by the time we reach Guangzhou that she will be more comfortable with me … I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Hi! I just found your blog…we have a Sophie, and are waiting for our Ava in Jiangxi. Your packing pics made me so anxious—we expect TA in July. So far away…but since she’s our 5th, it’s not like I have nothing to do until then. :o) God bless you with a wonderful gotcha trip. I look forward to following you to China. :o) Val in MD

Stef,
I haven’t been able to do anything today except think about you on your way to Sophie. I am so excited for you and I know God will take care of everything. Sophie is in my prayers (you, too)! May God bless you on your journey to your little miracle!
Love, Cynthia

Stefanie, I’m so tickled to see that you and Sophie had such a great trip home. I know it was looooong!! Congrats on moving into the new house. We are over in South Carolina so maybe we can get together some time when we are traveling. Brinley gets so excited when she sees XiaoXiao’s pictures! She jumps up and down on my lap and yells and claps! 🙂 She is so excited to see her friend!
WELCOME HOME!!!
