These three.
They have so many things they share.
One of the biggest? They were all born with bilateral clubfoot.
So, on our way out to the door today, I made them all sit down to let me snap a picture of them together.
To remember these days.
The days when their twice-yearly visit to Boston Children’s rolls around – for a re-check of their now corrected clubfoot.
To see these three go, you’d never even suspect they were born with clubfoot.
Lightening, I tell ya. Even Vivienne can bust a move.
And now, based on their x-rays, our orthopedic doc says he can’t even tell the were born with clubfoot.
Thanks to Dr. Ponseti and the Ponseti method of serial castings.
Lots and lots of plaster.
And now just nightly bracing, praise the Lord.
In fact, not one of them remembers the way their feet used to look.
And when the subject comes up and they start to ask questions, I have to pull out their baby pictures as proof.
Sometimes I think they’re convinced I’m making it up.
But, we look at their pictures, and talk about it… I think it’s good for them to know.
How they started. And how far they’ve come.
And now?
How far they’ll go is completely up to them.

What a GREAT SS…. Love the smiles and the little remnants of chubby baby cheeks still peeking through. And it is so great to tell them how far they've come. Even better to tell them how FAR God will take them in years to come. LOVE that about you 🙂
On pins and needles for part 2 you know…. tap, tap, tap….. refresh, refresh, refresh….. 😉

Oh, what a beautiful, beautiful narrative to go with those photos. Stunning ending. It certainly seems like you know what is important to teach your children…

They're adorable! I was also supposedly born with clubfoot. There are no pictures. My mom could be making it up; I remember none of it.
Apparently, she drew argyle socks on my casts, and when people asked why I was in casts, she told them it was a skiing accident.

Beautiful kiddos! And yes, amazing as to who they are and what their futures hold! Thank you for saying "yes" when God asked that hard question – "will you go?"! Where would we be without our babies! -I don't even want to think about that!

I love seeing their smiling faces…they are adorable! When our family first met yours, you were just home with Jude and were seeing Dr. Ponsetti, what a blessed time for our family! Great to hear that ALL is perfect on their feet and you and Chris are amazing parents….your kiddos are blessed!

The photos are beautiful, the kids are gorgeous, but it is your words that will follow me as I head into the remainder of my day. Such lovely sentiment from a mother whose heart overflows for her children. Thank you for sharing.

Okay, so you disabled comments on the "gawsh" posts but not on this one 🙂 I'm sneaky. This Esther needed to just grin at you. You're telling a great story and I'm loving every minute of it.

I just read your entry to my husband. Thank you for posting what you did. It helps us keep the faith for our own daughter who is waiting for us in China and has club foot.
