Yes, I am still sad. But not sad enough to disappear for an entire week. Yikes, I haven’t gone that long in posting since I-don’t-know-when.
My absence is due to an unanticipated vacation from my internet and phone service – thanks to a broken cable outside. Finally, finally, the cable guy came and repaired it last night. And I am now acutely aware of my ridiculous addiction to my laptop. Thankfully for me though, I’m not fasting from it.
And so today, laptop perched snugly in it’s rightful place, it’s time to get caught up.
We recently celebrated my biggest boy’s birthday.
And since then, he hasn’t hesitated to remind me regularly that I am now the mother of two adult children.
Because he turned 18, y’all.
Old enough to make me realize I am sorely unprepared for what growing up does to a mama’s heart.
Happy Birthday, Zach. I could not love you more.
P.S. Don’t ever smoke. Or go to war. You may be bigger than me, but I’m still your mama.

Is that New York cheesecake with vanilla ice cream? That boy really knows how to celebrate!

Goodness, my girl is only six and that makes me sad so I can’t imagine what you are feeling! Hugs

Happy Birthday to Zach!
I’m commenting here because I can’t find an email address for you. I would like to send you a photo of my daughter, with just my back where I”m wearing a Wild Olive Tee. It was taken last April with her first big photo session after coming home. It may be something y’all would like for the WO website? You can email me at wng78@aol.com and I will send it to you.

The growing up thing is inevitable, but we don’t have to like it, right? ((Hugs))

Happy Birthday Zach! Like your mom said – don’t ever smoke! But as for the rest – and at HUGH risk of offending your mom – follow your heart and do that which you KNOW to be the RIGHT thing – because doing the right thing is what a real man does! (But as a dad – Yeah – I’d rather you not go to war too!!)
hugs – aus and co.

Yeah, I’m speaking strictly as mama here, Aus! But as a wife to a 21+ year active duty military man, I have complete respect and unwavering admiration for all our troops 🙂
