Belle decided that today was the day she wanted to learn to string beads. And so she did. Being Isabelle’s mom is like being on a constant roller coaster. The girl has no “medium” setting.
Either she’s ignoring things I try to get her to do, or she’s insistent that I show her how to do it now. This newfound desire to learn is so thrilling for us, as Isabelle has always struggled with being behind. And if you know Belle, you can’t make her do anything.
I have been trying to present opportunities and buy toys that might make her want to learn something new but with very limited success. So today was a red letter day. She strung a shoe lace full and when I put it around her neck and exclaimed about her beautiful necklace, she beamed with pride.

What a girl.
She makes taking steps forward sometimes painful and extremely time consuming. But oh, so gratifying to behold.
Isabelle’s necklace is just as beautiful as her adorable smile!
