The tub

My kids love the tub. Thankfully Jude loves the tub now, too. For some reason he is braver in the water and moves around like a crazy man in the tub. Stand up, sit down, turn on water, pull sister’s hair and on and on. Lots to do. The kids spend about 45 minutes every night in the tub. Isabelle and Sophie pretend that they are serving each other with the little tea set we have as a tub toy. For some reason pouring water into cups from a tiny teapot just never seems to get old. When bubbles are added it’s a sure recipe for even more fun. The girls spoon up the bubbles into their cups and try their best to get little bro to drink it. Jude’s not so sure about the bubbles yet and can’t seem to understand that when one has bubbles on his hands, it is not wise to rub said hands across one’s face. Once he realizes he has bubbles on his face he starts screaming, convinced someone has sneaked up and smeared his face with bubbles. He goes straight for the first sister’s hair he can reach and pulls. Of course, he knows he’s not supposed to do this and when he sees me he loosens his grip and pretends like he’s just admiring his sister’s lovely locks. Smart boy. Amazingly both girls are incredibly forgiving where Jude is concerned and seem to be able to shake off any injuries inflicted without batting an eye.
Watching them play together is one of my favorite parts of my day. I know it won’t be long until they won’t want to spend so much time in the tub and eventually they won’t want to bathe together at all. So for now our nightly ritual is cherished time together.

The kids are soo cute! Our Lily loves bathtime especially with her sisters or even mommy! LOL Although she complains I take up too much space!

Bath time is the best at our house too! And so true about filling the cups! Best investment ever – the “stacking cups” lol!

    Cute photos!

Either I’m experiencing PMS or I’m perimenopausal, because for some reason I’m getting choked up reading this- maybe it’s just that the girls and even Jude have already grown up so much, or maybe it’s just that I miss you… whatever the case may be, thanks for this post. I remember tub time with my sis and brother… good memories, can’t wait for the day I can watch Macey splash around!
