More of the park

The weather was gorgeous the other day so we happily loaded up and headed to the park. I realized it had been since the fall that we’d actually gone to play somewhere other than our backyard ๐Ÿ˜‰ As expected, the kiddos loved it. Jude ran from slide to slide, pointing and saying, “lide! lide!”, wanting so badly to go down one but too scared to try. Finally, with a little help and coercion, we got him up to the top and down the wave slide. That was it. He had found his preferred entertainment for the day. Sophie was just so happy to be back at the park we’d spent so much time at last year, she darted all over the park, remembering each and every spot where she had played before. She loves the swings, but not quite as much as Isabelle! She also wanted to brave the heavily chipping lead based- paint caterpillar, but she recently developed a fear of heights. We opted for the toddler springy toy instead. As you can see, she loved it and was quite content to keep her feet near the ground. Isabelle, on the other hand, has NO fear of heights… pretty much no fear of anything. She was totally in her element. First she insisted on being swung… and high… the first 15 minutes we were there. Then she moved on to all the other equipment that makes moms pull their hair out and bite their nails to the quick. But our girl, well, she’s just talented in that way. She doesn’t fall. She loves to climb and has the skills to do it ๐Ÿ˜‰ My favorite shot is the one of her under the monkey bars. We were all sitting on the family swing, enjoying the day. But not Isabelle. She had to keep on keepin’ on. She really wanted to get up on the monkey bars. I told her to come over and swing with us, trying to tempt her away for a few minutes. She decided to try to get up on the monkey bars herself. She jumped and jumped… finally, exasperated, she said, “No can do it… too high!” Needless to say, I was over there helping her before she got all the words out of her mouth to help her up. Gotta give the girl some props for her efforts ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you Lord for the beautiful day and the miracle of Your creation all around us!!

Oh what fun!! The pictures totally capture the great time the kiddos are having. Can’t wait until the snow melts and we can get to the park.

    Wow, Isabelle!!! You go, girl!!
Great photos of a fun-filled day!! And I am so envious that you all seemed to have the run of the park that day!! Here in NYC, the parks are teeming with about a zillion children at once! lol!

OH MY! I didn’t know they still had those caterpillars anywhere. My elementary school had one and in the 4th grade I got stuck climbing under the big arch. The teacher on duty had to come peel me out of the situation.

Isn’t it grand to be back at the park?! We have made a couple of trips also but now it is raining again. Oh well, we enjoyed it while it lasted!

I just love to see all of your little ones personalities SHINE! And you are so good about describing it all.

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

Sweet park pictures! Our kids love the park too – especially one that they have visited before ๐Ÿ™‚ good times! We woke up to a blanket of snow – so I put the cocoa on & suggested we have a day ‘inside’!
