Over the last month I have been surprised and, quite honestly, fascinated by all the new folks that have bravely shrugged off their anonymity and commented on the blog. I don’t like when people (ahem, that would be my husband) use the word “nosy” to describe me… I prefer “curious”… but I am always interested in finding out the who, what, when, where and why about people. So, needless to say, I dig it when someone new checks in on our blog and gives us a shout out. Plus, I LOVE meeting new people and hearing about how they came to find our little blog 🙂
So as a way of saying “THANKS” (and as a little tease to get other lurkers to come out of hiding) I’m giving away something I think it really cool…. $25 dineros of shoppin’ money, baby!!
I recently came across this site and LOVE not only the adorably hip tees, but the fact that for each shirt purchased, they will donate enough to feed an orphan in Africa for a whole month! Sweet… you get the tee AND help feed a child for a month! A double doozie!!
And right now they are running a special: buy 2 or more for $12 each, so $25 could buy you TWO tees… one for you and one for your little one!
So here’s the deal. ANYONE can enter, just leave a comment on THIS post, and let me know how long you’ve been a reader (assuming you are a reader) and how you found us. If you’re not a regular reader, that’s okay too! Cuz’ I know, everyone loves a giveaway!
I’ll chose the winner randomly a week from today, on Friday the 19th and I’ll contact the winner with their gift certificate code so they can start shoppin’! So whether you’re an old or new reader, or even if you couldn’t care less about our fam but wanna win something for free, comment away!
Hi Stefanie! I found your blog when I followed Shepherd’s journey on myadoptionwebsite.com. You are an amazing mother and a true inspiration. I have a 9/4/2006 LID for my daughter from China. I will be a single Mom and this will be my only child. Your blog is one of my favorites! You have a beautiful family and I thank you for sharing them with all of us.

Been reading your blog, since Maureen (whom I love) created her Little Pearl Foundation. Followed your journey to Shepherd and love reading about your little tribe. Dnag near killed me to have you and Shepherd come to Iowa and not to be able to run down there and visit with you! lol Be sure and tell you dh that I am also ‘curious’ and make friends with people I’ve never met all the time! lol
I found you when you went on your first journey at myadoptionwebsite. We decided to adopt a special needs boy because of the information you led us to. Also your joy of adoption is pretty contagious too.
Pray for quick LOA please.
Hey Stephanie…count me in…I love free stuff~
I am going to do something like this soon…just haven’t decided what I am doing just yet!
Ok, Ok,,, I have left a comment or two.. but have been "nosy" for quite some time! We adopted our amazing daughter 5 months ago. I have found so much inspiration from you and your open and honest ways. I surely had fears and doubts sometimes early on in the process. I found so much comfort in reading your heartfelt words, as well as the fun and beautiful things too. You have a BEAUTIFUL family. We would love to go back to China to bring a 5th child home… We will see what God's plans are for that one. Our friends & family think we are nuts.
I have been a reader since you brought Sophie home! Although I have not adopted from China I have such a heart for these babies and their families. I have been praying about how God wants me to be a part of the miracle of adoption. You inspire me as a mom and a Christian woman. Thank you for your testimony of sacrifice and servanthood in your role as a mom to these precious children…God’s blessings for you. Many months ago I passed your blog on to my friends Aimee and Mac Powell because of your great adoption video that was put to a Third Day song. Aimee loved your blog and stayed up all night reading it too! Best Wishes to you and your beautiful family!
it's been so long I forget where I found ja! Do us Cannuks get the free shopping experience too? Don't forget, I've shared the trailer spot next to yours and I too love garbage day!!!

Hi Stefanie…I found your blog from the Dongguan yahoogroup…or maybe it was another yahoogroup when you were paperchasing for Shepherd. Been eagerly following along ever since!
Mom to 6…2 bio, 4 adopted in nowhere, Alabama…
I’m nosy too! I’ve been following your ever growing family since Isabelle. I found your site while following my cousins who adopted from China (Some Babies Come By Plane – Elizabeth). I love your faith in God and your love of your family. You lift me up!

Hi Stephanie. I’ve been following your blog since you adopted Sophie. I posted once a long time ago, when your dear friend from Texas passed in the skydiving accident. I’m a native Texan, living in upstate New York, adoptive mom to my almost 3 year old daughter from China and DTC yesterday for my 9 year old son, also from China. I am absolutely serious when I say this – you are my hero! I check your blog daily, sometimes just to see what you are up to, sometimes to motivate myself when I’m feeling overwhelmed. You rock!! May God continue to bless your family.
I found your blog a while back through another china adoption blog. I don’t think I’ve ever commented before, but I could be wrong. I love your generous heart and love for your family. Your children are so precious and I’ve loved checking in for updates on Shepherd.
I have followed your blog ever since Karla put me in touch with you as a reference for Lifeline. I love reading your updates. Not only are you an amazing mom, you are an incredible example of a woman who follows Christ wherever He leads. We could all learn from you. Thank you for sharing so honestly with us. Shelley in VA
Stefanie, HI! You know I’ve been following you since Feb 2005… whether it was in email or on your first blog! LOVE YOUR BLOG!
31 days till Logan day!!!
Honestly, I can’t remember exactly HOW I found your blog. I do know that I click on your link on someone else’s blog. I’m not sure if you know, but you are on quite a few blogs!
I started reading while you were waiting to get Sheperd. I loved your story about God calling you to adopt again. I felt that way all 3 times I adopted.
I think I started following your adoption journeys with one of your daughters, maybe thru CCAI’s wcp? I’ve been around a while too since 2001 but just started a blog this year. It is fun, yours is my very favorite though!!!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Cindy – mom to seven
I found your blog through a link on another when you were doing the camera give away. I've been following along since then – maybe 8 months or so? I've never left a comment! I have two daughters (5 & 3) and a 2 year old son we adopted this summer from China. I love your blog!
ooohh, count me in 🙂 I check your blog daily…I am drawn to your beautiful, large family. We have 5 and I pray we have more babies waiting for us. I love that you are a honest…this-is-who-I-am kind of gal and you aren’t afraid to share how things really are. I love more than anything that you love the Lord! ~stacy
G day Stefanie

I can across your blog a few months ago, before you adopted Shepherd. Haven’t had a chance to come back and read again until I came across your blog again on Julia Laine’s blog. So glad to see that Shepherd’s home now.

Well, I have been a faithful reader for about two and a half years, since we meet in China to get our girls! Christy
I have followed your blogs since FOREVER! I discovered your blog from the Huai’an SWI Yahoo group. My daughter, Kelsey, shares the same SWI as your Isabelle. I followed your Journey to Isabelle first – and your pictures of the homecoming and Tori hugging her brothers brought tears to my eyes. Then – you knocked my socks off when you announced you were waiting for Sophie so shortly afterward…but then Came Jude too – and then Shepherd!! We have emailed a bit back and forth – – but I must admit I have been lurking for quite some time. I just love your blog – checking it is a favorite part of my day!
I wish you all the best with your beautiful family.

I love watching the kids grow and reading your amazing journey..
We are LID to China for a little girl (0-12 months) April 28,2007… we had asked to change to SN but our agency wouldn’t let us.. so we are in it for the long wait.. We were hoping to have her home by now due to the fact that the oldest is a senior this year..
But doesn’t look like it will happen..
Thank you for your amazing blog.. you have truly inspired me..
Have a Great Weekend..
I will start posting.. sorry..
I honestly can’t remember how I found your blog. (It is a God thing, I am sure!) I love reading your blog. I have always wanted a large family, and through adoption, we are working on it, slowly but surely. We have 2 daughters from China in 2 years! (SN). Thank you for sharing your everyday life with us! Our family website is:
Old reader…from the old Yahoo gang…PRE Isabelle or any of our China kiddos. Still love your blog and Free stuff 😉
Count me in on the giveaway, you of anybody should know that big families need all we can get, lol! I read your blog all the time, (I have it posted on my favorites in my blog and being a very busy mom to 9 I am picky about the ones I read as I don’t have time for many) I think you are a great inspiration as a mom and a person. I have no idea how long I’ve been reading it or how I did find it though. Keep up the great work! Trish
Remember me???? I know, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve left a comment. I check on you daily though. I’ve been a faithful follower ever since you went to bring Sophie home. Love your family and your blog. Please count me in for your giveaway.
Wanted to let you know, your home is beautiful. It looks so homey already, from the pictures you have posted.
I have a request….Please post pictures of Shepherd with all his brothers and sisters…lol. I’m dying to see them all together. I miss seeing all of them. No pressure..I know your a busy busy mommy these days.
Thanks for doing a giveaway. You have a very big following. Such nice people too.
Hi Steph! Ok I think it was Jan/Feb DTC (05) and then you added March? Or was it the other way around. I can’t believe its going on 4 years, but since we’ll be looking at kindergardens soon I guess it must be.
Stacy (mom to Miss M)
I’ve been reading your blog since you sent off the LOI for Jude and I saw we were using the same agency.
I think I’ve commented here before, but more of a lurker. I found you from Haley’s (the kiwi) blog. I believe it was right as you announced you were in the process to adopt Sheperd. We are in the process of adopting a NSN China daughter while awaiting the birth of my third. When I come to your site, it puts my so called busy life into perspective. Thanks for opening up to all of us strangers!

I don’t really remember exactly how I found your blog, but it was back on “Sophie Makes Six” as I followed your paper chase and trip to bring Sophie home. We were in our first process then, during the wait, and I have just loved your blog ever since! Sarah Lu came home in December 2006 and is 4 years old and we are now waiting for Chayah, a 6 yr. old little girl, waiting for LOA (Day 71). Your blog has been on my daily checks for some time and has always been an encouragement and inspiration!
I found your blog on myadoptionwebsite.com when you adopted Shepherd. I am by no means near starting a journey but I pray every single night and sometimes throw one in the day that God will show me a plan. Anyway, I have found your adoptions very inspirational and it really opened my eyes to SN. I am sooo addicted to reading everyone elses adoptions and sometimes I cry as well. Thank you for allowing me to continue.

Fun, fun, fun!
I’ve been a reader for a couple of years. We live in Birmingham and saw that you adopted one of your bunch through Lifeline. We also have a son with clubfeet and I can so vividly remember soaking the casts off and seeing those little feet straighter and straighter every week. We are in the process of adopting another son and I enjoy reading how you keep your sanity with such a big crew. It gives me hope that I’ll do okay raising my 4 munchins!
Thanks for the contest,
I have been wrapped up in my own trial and it is so good to catch up a bit on some of my favorite bloggy families!
You have done amazing things with your new house….I know it is EXHAUSING work and that is even without poopy diapers- ugh.
I don’t know about you, but God teaches me SO much when things are hard……so if you’re like me…you are learning a TON right about now.
God is faithful through every storm. I pray you are seeing sunshine and His beautiful rainbow in your new neck of the woods.

Hi! I discovered your first adoption journey on myadoptionwebsite when we first started to consider the adoption process. I have followed all of your other journeys and enjoy hearing about your fun family. We are still waiting for our little girl; this will be a second family for us as our children are grown and all but one have left the nest. Your children are beautiful and I enjoy reading your posts!
Found your blog because of Heather at “Our Little Ladybugs”. Looking forward to keeping up with your blog.

I found your blog on myadoptionwebsite.com way back when you adopted Isabelle. And again I followed your journey to Sophie.
It wasn’t until later that I actually found your blog. It might’ve been in talking to Kris (Tell Her This) that I found the blog. Can’t remember now. Anyway I’ve been around for awhile and love watching your family grow. I’m amazed at any mom who can juggle that many children and make it look easy. 🙂
Lets see.. I started following your journey to China when you were waiting to travel to get Sophie. I love myadoptionwebsite.com!
I have followed your last 3 trips to China!
Best wishes to your family
I don’t remember exactly WHEN or HOW I came across your blog, but it was right after you announced Shepherd would be joining your family. Lydia and I would surely look great in those cute t’s.
Hi Stefanie, I found your blog back in 2005 when you were getting ready for your first trip to China. I was starting my paperchase and you were traveling. Now I am almost through waiting for my little girl and you are an old pro at the whole China trip 🙂 I have always enjoyed your writing and love how you take everything in stride. I have 2 bio sons, one with special needs and love to hear from other moms who just roll with the punches as life gets crazy.

Hello Stefanie. I found your blog off of another…that I was linked to from a former collegue’s adoption waiting site. I have become an addict! Sorry, I love to read what is going on and I am amazed that you can do it with 8 kids. I only have 2 and want to pull my hair out some days so you give me hope that I will make it thru and so will my boys. I can’t wait for my friend to get her referral, she is 17 months in and is looking at at least another year it sounds like. So I get my fix from you and know what Pam has to look forward to in the months and years to some. Thank you.

Mom Giveaways. You have a very fascinating site! Your children are all adorable. Thanks for sponsoring such a fantastic giveaway drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
My name is Robyn and I’ve commented a time or two before. I’ve followed you to China and back with Sophie, Jude and Shepherd. I cannot remember how I came across your blog, it may have been from one of your My Adoption Websites or through another blog. Regardless I have always enjoyed reading your blog and while we are still in the NSN category, as soon as our baby gets a little bigger we are considering SN. You’ve been a huge inspiration in that. I too am a GA Peach. A big shout out to you for all you do for orphans around the world. God Bless you and your precious family!
Nothing like a giveaway to get everyone to come out of hiding!!!
I have commented on your blog a few times. I love all your children, they are the sweetest. I came across you from another blog and was hooked, you had just came home with Sophie. I love your inspiration and dedication to God. I actually used your post on when you decided to adopt Shephard for a devotion one morning. You have kept me motivated on days when I have needed it. Allie my daughter loves looking at their pictures and seeing their precious smiles. One post you had of the girls at the park she said “my friends are playing – I need to play with them!”
Take Care and your floors look great!!!
wow i love to try and win this so i can get my little one some thing thanks
I am not sure where I found you, but I have been reading for about a month or two.

Just found you!
Hello Stefanie I began reading your blog on myadoptionwebsite on your first trip to China. I was inspired by your heartfelt and personal outdates. It allowed people to see that not everything is rosy. I followed all 4 of your journeys. I adopted my daughter on 9/18/06! We have been home almost 2 years, since I’m single I can no longer adopt from China, but I’m going to Bulgaria and have decided I can accept a child with club feet. I would love to talk with you about what else I need. I live in CT and have found a doctor at Yale who does Posetti’s techniques. my email is email@example.com thank you for sharing your incredible story.

I found you from myadoptionwebsite.com. I so enjoy your blog. I am a mom of 2 boys that were adopted from Korea. I LOVE reading adoption blogs and I spend WAY to much time reading them but adoption is what made me a mom and us a family:)
Thanks for sharing some of your life with all of us!
Stephanie, I am not actually sure how I found your blog. I adopted my daughter Kate through Children’s House just about 2 yrs. ago. Your children are adorable and I have learned a lot about your son’s SN through reading your blog.
I pop in regularly and enjoy getting a peak into your family dynamics.

Hi! I started reading your blog while you were paper chasing for Shepherd. I think I found it through Wanderer’s Daughter.
I was in your 2005 DTC group, before you switched to SN to bring home Miss Isabelle! I am mom to Lucas, Vivi and Sabrina. Vivi and Sabrina are 6 months apart, and Sabrina is from Jiangxi (and in the same travel group as Nicole!).
We used to live in Atlanta, but then I got divorced and we moved a year later to Maryland. I love seeing the updates of your kids! I will admit that I have adoption envy — despite Sabrina having a hard transition when she got home, I am so in love with the whole process of adoption and if I was still married, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
I just found you on Mommy Giveaways. The picture’s of your son’s feet are amazing. My younger brother had clubbed feet as a child, it is really amazing to see the transformation!
Wow, you’re so popular! It’s already working!
I think I have commented before – well I am almost positive! I actually started being “curious” about your family when I read your “Journey to Isabelle” on myadoptionwebsite.com. A friend of mine was adopting and I was checking out some of the other stories – and your family caught my eye. Possibly because I have always wanted a large family myself! I then read “Sophie Makes Six” and before your brought home Jude I found your original blog – although to be honest I am not sure how!! I want to thank you for sharing your story with us. Although I am not married yet, speical needs adoption has always been on my heart and your family is such and inspiration!!
With gratitude and thanks,
PS- I would love a chance to win some cute tees for my nieces!!!
Hi Stefanie! I was a member of the 2005 CCAI group. I followed your journey to Isabelle, then Sophie, Jude and Shepherd. I didn’t find your blog until about 18 months ago and I’ve been hooked every since. I love your honesty and your faith in Christ.

Hi Stephanie! I have been following your blog since you adopted your sweet little Sophie through myadoptionwebsite.com. You have the most amazing heart for adoption and I have used your example as a family to attempt to convince my hubby to allow us to adopt also. (He thinks five is enough!)You don’t know it, but I am sure you have encouraged many families to take that leap of faith to adopt a special needs child. I know you have been a true insperation to me! All of your children are beautiful blessings and perfect gifts from God! Thanks for allowing us to “lurk” through your blog, because you truely are making a difference. Heidi in NJ
I followed your journey to Isabelle and have been a reader ever since. We have now just brought home our 8th child a heart baby and her name is Isabelle! Thanks to you I found her! On 10-23-07 you posted about AAI having this sweet heart baby girl waiting…thanks again. We are now blessed to call her our DAUGHTER!
Hi Stefanie! I have posted a couple of comments since I started reading, nothing of great importance, though. I think I may have started reading your blog when you were doing to camera raffle for Shepherd. If not, it was right before then. I read so many blogs, it’s possible I just clicked from someone else’s blog. I love being “nosey” about your family. We are a retired Army/National Guard family and you are a great AF wife. We are waiting for LOA for our second blessing from China. Thanks for sharing your family and life with all of us! Hugs, Sheryl
I just came across your blog.
I think its amazing what you have done with the children.
You Go Girl!
Hello from KY!! We check out your blog almost daily. All 5 of my kids love to see what is happening in your crazy world. I had emailed you once when I found out we both adopted sn daughters from Guilin. We love your crazy, honest posts that we can all relate to! Your faith in God is very refreshing to hear! We are so proud of how Shepherd’s feet look! God bless, Rachelle and fam
i’ve been reading since you came home with isabelle!! found you on the myadoptionwebsite and fell in love with you and your family!
note on tinyrockstar.com…the toddler’s sizes run small, so order big!
I have been following your family since your first journey to Isabelle. We were just getting ready to start our adoption process at that time. I have enjoyed so much each trip and each addition to your family. I love your honesty and sincerity that you give to each post. We are still waiting for China (LID 3/29/06) but we also brought home a daughter from Vietnam this past March. Along with our 3 bio children, we live a pretty busy life, although maybe not quite as busy as yours!
Yes, I am guilty of reading and never commenting and posting. I bet there are many more who are blessed by your posts and never tell you. (:
I can’t remember how i stumbled across your blog. All I know is that I spent hours reading it.
I started reading your blog via the myadoptionwebsite when you went to China to get Jude. I appreciate your genuine honesty. We are missionaries in the Philippines and currently waiting to be placed with a 7 year old girl via a “domestic” adoption here in the Philippines. I have first hand experience in a government orphanage in the Philippines and it really tugs at my heart. One caretaker for 12 babies under two. We have also fostered a baby through the Philippine system. The bureaucracy is crazy here. I think they could learn a lot from the China adoption program. Just in case anyone is wondering, it is NOT necessarily easier to adopt locally and then go to the USA. At least not for us. Sigh!! We are trusting the Lord to work out the details as we wait. God bless you and your family. You are an inspiration.
Hi Stehanie! I found your blog over a year ago through another blog. We too have been touched by adoption through China. We brought home our daughter in Feb. 2007. What a blessing she has been to our family. I’m so grateful I listened to God to take this leap of faith and trust Him. I thank you for opening so many eyes to special needs adoption through your blog. I love to check in daily to see how your beautiful family is doing. I think your an amazing mom!
I found your blog from the Dongguan group. I don’t know how long I have been reading.
Okay, you got me! 🙂 I’ve been a long time reader…I even have you on my blogroll. I think I found you through myadoptionwebsite way back. Your such an amazing mom and a true inspiration! I love reading your blog and seeing how you manage 8 kiddos! We have one bio daughter and are waiting for referrals from Taiwan. Take care.
I found your blog through serial links, blog after linked blog after linked blog… I think I found you right before you adopted Shep and have been hooked ever since. Im a single adoptive parent of a three year old daughter from China. Im also a child psychologist who specializes in kids with special needs. You are free to pick my brain for ideas:)
I found your blog last week from another blog that I was visiting. I can so relate to you and your family. My husband’s and my family are rooted in the South. We moved 2years ago from TX to CT. My in-law’s are Georgians and my family originally hails from Southern VA. We love our friends here in CT, but would return South in a heartbeat! (You can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl!) Your family is precious and such a wonderful inspiration. My hubby and I (high school sweethearts)have four awesome children by birth and we are LID China 06.19.08for our first child through adoption. There are no words to express the awe and humility we feel to have been led down this path. We are so grateful to all of you bloggers who share your family stories with those of us out here in the waiting stage. You are each such a blessing of hope, encouragement and inspiration. May you continue to be blessed in return…Love, Amy
Ok — I’ll play!
I’ve been reading along since 2005 when you traveled to get Isabelle. We started our paperwork shortly after and FINALLY traveled to get our daughter last fall. The waiting time was so difficult, as you well know. But reading about other people’s journeys help tremendously. I have just loved watching your family grow : )
Like you, we just moved and are getting settled in a new home, new groove. I’m new to being a SAHM (love it!) and have finally started our own blog. I’ll try to de-lurk more often!
I am not a frequent reader but I read some posts and my hat is off to you.
found your blog through adoption link (can’t recall which one), have been reading for months…love it,
we just brought our daughter home from China 2 mos. ago…
Oh my goodness – now that’s a great way to get people out of hiding! I’ve been a reader for ohhhh about as long as it’s been since you traveled for Sofie. 🙂

I’ve been following your blog since before you brought home your adorable Shepherd..not sure if I’ve commented before. I think I just kind of stumbled on your blog from another blog (I do that alot). I love reading about your precious family and your faith inspires me. I am so amazed at how Shepherds feet have changed. It’s awesome, really. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Stephanie- You crack me up!! I would prefer to call myself curious as well. My husband would however say nosey too. Maybe we could just say we are inquisitive!
I can’t remember how I first found your blog earlier this year, but I am SO glad I did!! You know I love your family!
That’s great that one tee shirt can support an orphan in Africa for one month. Great way to spread the word about a great company!
It feels good to come out of lurking…thanks for the invite! Our family is in the middle of our first adoption from China and we have three biological boys. I found your blog through the unbelievable grapevine of links in the adoption community. You were just going through paperwork for Jude when I started reading regularly. Ever since then I check in at least every other day. And you’ve usually posted something new! You are amazing! I love large families and the beauty of your own is astounding. You keep me laughing through this long, long, long process! Your spiritual insight and parental love is always so uplifting. BTW my husband is laughing at me that it’s only taken me two years to say hello! lol

Hi! I have been reading your blog for a while now I believe, not sure how I stumbled on to it. We used the same agency that you did for Shepherd, for our little Jailyn Hope and am using them again for our newest addition (hopefully in November), Jorja Noelle.
This is a great idea – I may have to steal the idea!
Praying for speady LOA and TA!!!
Shepherd’s progress looks great!

I love your blog and your family is inspirational to me. I worked in China for one year in 2002 but have always always wanted to adopt internationally.
I have 2 bio kids and really am not yet “eligible” to adopt from China, so I don’t know where our journey will lead.
You have a BEAUTIFUL family (you already know that, though)!
Hi Stefanie! I have commented a few times but not on a regular basis. I guess I’m one of those lurker people. Sorry. I check in on you almost daily on your crew. I have been following your blog since myadoptionwebsite for Isabelle. You are such an inspiration and one of the reasons why we felt a pull to SN. Thank you sharing your family with us. Your journeys, your family, your attitude as a Christian woman are all blessings to those of us waiting…
I was cruising the blogs I normally follow and found yours listed 2 times today, so I had to come check you out. Can’t wait to read the whole blog!
I found your blog on a MAW update…I think. I have been following for a bit and have left a couple comments although not for awhile. In August we added #5 to our family so my blog readin’ time has been drastically decreased to quick glimpses 🙂 Actually, since our little bugaboo came along I am just trying to figure out how to get my hair AND my makeup done on the same day…so far I manage to get one done, on occasion both 🙂
Anyways, it’s great to drop by and see another mom keeping it together, gives me hope I’ll get there someday!
Great way to pull people out of their shell with the giveaway!
Oh…and we have a Jude too 🙂

Hi Stefanie! I found your blog mentioned in a post from one of my adoption lists, and I began checking in right before Shepherd came home. (We sent you the doggie fabric for his quilt.) I love reading your blog because it is funny and real, and it makes me realize that with 3 bio kids already, we certainly have room in our lives and hearts for our future adopted children. I have so few friends who understand why we are adopting at all, and why we are adopting from overseas. I feel like I’m always defending our decisions. So, it’s great to know about real families who choose the same path, and follow their hearts and God. And of course, your kids are beautiful, and I enjoy your photos. (Do you have a Rebel camera?) Anyway, thanks for sharing with us! You are inspiring!
I think I’ve been a reader for about a year?? Longer??? I dunno. 🙂 Can’t remember how I found your blog, either… I think it was from someone else’s sidebar link. Then I was hooked!! 🙂 I would love to win that gift cert., I’m a big fan of Tiny Rockstar!

I found your blog perhaps last December or January (possibly longer) through reading through Jude’s site on My Adoption Website. I am a senior at Georgetown University and am in the beginning stages of writing my thesis on the reprocussions of the one child policy. My roommate makes fun of me because I follow the websites of “several” families in various places in Chinese adoption, including yours. I was in China this summer, and stayed on Shamian while doing research. I was having coffee with a friend at Starbucks when you walked by with Shepard, I turned to my friend and said “I know that family, I read their blog.” I went and checked in with your blog (had been out of touch while in China) and sure enough you had just receieved Shepard! I thought it would be strange and a little stalker-ish to chase you down and introduce myself. But my heart swelled to know you had Shepard.
Love reading about your family.

I’ve been checking your blog since May (I think) which was right about the time you went to get Sheperd. I am rather new to this whole world of blogging. I found and read my first blog ever when searching for any info I could find on the chengdu orphanage our son is in. I found Michele’s blog (ourjourneytosophie.blogspot.com) and I believe your blog was listed on that. I’ve been following your story ever since. I love reading chinese adoption-related blogs. We are waiting on our CIS approval and there isn’t much we can do now. So, in the meantime, I am enjoying reading blogs like yours and wondering about what it will like for us when we finally get to meet our son. He is three and special needs too (cleft lip/palate). He’s had corrective surgery already. I have a blog to document our wait and eventual travel to bring him home. It’s godspromisetocaleb.blogspot.com. julia in IN.
I’ve been following at least since Sophie and possibly Isabelle. I think that I found this blog from the myadoptionwebsite link. I’m also in the AF and I have 2 Chinese daughters. I may have commented once but I am a professional lurker (and have no blog of my own). I have to admire your dedication to these Chinese children and also your faith.

I found your blog following the Ruby and the Pearl’s website off of a co-workers “waiting” site and I have to say I have become addicted! I am always impressed and inspired by the stories I have read and followed. Your journey to Shepherd is inspiring on so many levels and I know that God put special families like you on this earth to show the rest of us that it can and is being done…and Very Well!
Stefanie, I happened upon your blog about a year ago through http://www.myadoptionwebsite.com. I check in on you everyday, but have never commented. You are an inspiration to many! Thank you for sharing your family with us!

I just happened upon your blog when researching giving my blog a “new Look” in Feb of this year. Being a Southern (Texas) girl I thought the title of the blog was perfect. And I wish I’d had thought of it…..
So I started reading the blog and was lucky enough to meet you, Chris and Shepherd in China this June. All my friends wanted to know if I had met you… they read it too. It was one of the highlights of our trip to China this time around.
Thanks for taking the time to share your life with us.
I have been lurking on your blog for awhile. I found the site by looking at another site. I am waiting for my little girl from China and I have been waiting for 17 months so far. I love reading your blog and have enjoyed all of your posts.
I also have two Jack Russell Terriers.

Hi! I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now and I think I found you through my adoption websites. I’m in the process of adopting a girl from China as a single. I live in Nashville, TN and your blog was one that inspired me to begin blogging myself. Thanks!
This is actually my first time reading your blog and I LOVE it! We have a new niece that just came home from Ethiopia and then we also have 7 other nieces and nephews who have been adopted from China and Russia. What a wonderful gift adoption is!! We’ve been so blessed watching God grow our family through adoption. Can’t wait to follow your blog!
I found your blog when I was reading about Sophie. My daughter’s name is Sophie and so it caught my eye on myadoptionwebsite. I have enjoyed now learning all about Sheperd’s journey and his sweet little feet. This has been such an education as well as just wonderful to watch the Lord place children in families.

you know what is strange?? I think I might of seen you in China while we were there but not sure?? Did I tell you that I liked your baby carrier in front of Lucy’s?? After you guys walked away I told my husband that I read your blog and we said No, that can’t be the “one”….
Take care, Michele

It is Kathy T from Alaska! I still have those photos you sent me of Lindsey from Gutian! I LOVE your blog!!! I met some people that jsut moved up to Anchorage that took their son Zac to the same place you take Shepard! I thought that was really Neat.!! Your family is beautiful!
I’m not sure how I found your blog – you know how you link from one to another and then you’re not sure how you got there? I began following your family while you were waiting for Shepherd to come home. I was in AWE of his beauty – there was something special about his referral pictures that really captured me. He is truly one of the most beautiful children. Anyway, then I began following your story and enjoyed stories and photos of all of your beautiful kids! I have been amazed by the progress with Shepherd’s feet! I keep coming back because I too am “nosy”!
I read your blog daily, but just have no time for comments most days- sorry! I’ve been reading your blog since oh, sometime shortly after Jude came home. I found your blog via the my adoption website site. Yours was the first blog I ever read, and I LOVED it then and I still do now! I appreciate your honesty about everything!
So, thanks for blogging. I may not comment much (or at all), but I’m here daily!
PS- I just moved too, so I can SO relate!!!!

I became curious about foreign adoptions and found all these wonderful blogs about chinese adoptions. And as many of you know, you start at one and it leads you to another and another, and so on! Stefanie, yours really stood out! I thought having 4 of my own was hard work but you really are a inspiration! You let us see your good days and your bad days! I can’t remember how long I’ve been following, maybe since last spring? Anyways, you are a inspiration and although my dream of adopting has been put on hold for now I know that there is a plethera of info and great people out here if the time comes for us to adopt! Thanks for sharing!
I have been reading myadoptionwebsite for 2 years now. I followed a link from one of those pages to your blog, have you marked and check in every day! (I also check in at myadoption website every day!) Fascinated with China adoption, not sure if that is where we are headed, but I love reading the family updates.
I’m not sure exactly when I started reading your blog- I first started reading Jude’s MAW pages when my aunt and uncle created their site there as well, and at the same time I was reading your posts on the Ponseti yahoo group and eventually figured out that you were the same person. 🙂 I think you posted your blog address on your signature on yahoo one day and I’ve been hooked ever since. I have loved following your journeys to Jude and Shepherd (and even Sophie and Isabelle after the fact through their MAW sites) and reading your random thoughts and daily adventures on your blog. I’m doubly blessed to have finally met you this summer and hope we can meet again one day.
I don’t remember how I found your blog…random searching around I think or a link through a yahoo SN group perhaps. Anyway, it was while you were bringing Sophie home and I think it was then just the individual blogs for Isabelle and Sophie.
I've been reading since the 'Sophie Makes Six" website. I'm part of a large parenting after infertility community, and always enjoy watching the China mommies come home with their babies. Somehow your website was mentioned & I became hooked. You have a beautiful family!
A friend shared my blog with you since we are talking about club feet as a need from our agency’s checklist.
Your blog is awesome. I love seeing the updates when the casts come off.
I had exchanged a few emails with you regarding club feet. I had probably first met you thru CCAI WC group. I think the first blog I read was for Jude.
Count me in!
I’ve been reading your blog off and on for a while since Nikki made it, she made my family blog too ! I am in the process of adopting a little girl from Russia, she’s 9 this month, has waited 2 yrs for a family and I need HELP from every and anyone to help with my magazine fundraiser or even donations. She has several special needs, and is in pain when she walks !

I found your site just by lurking around. I have been reading in for about 6 mos. We just got home in April with our daughter from China who is now 13 months we also have a bio. “surprise” baby who is 13 months! The are one day apart. Hello, I’ve been following you for a a while now. I found you from reading First a pearl, then a Ruby. I have followed your journey since Jude. Seriously? 144 comments? You’re the most popular person in blogland!
I’ve visited your site before….don’t know if I commented or not. But I love the title of your blog. We’re in Alabama (a friend of mine in South Carolina said “go south till you smell something and west till you step in it. That’s Alabama”
Anyway, I saw on one of the comments that you are a Lifeline reference? We are, too. Both of our adoptions were with Lifeline.
Have a great day!
Oh my goodness…..I just went on Sophie’s adoption site and read your story of how it came to be that she was yours. We had the SAME experience with Lifeline. All we knew was that we were naming our newest child Mia. When Karla sent me the file, I opened it and her name was Mia!
That is amazing that it happened to both of us!
Hi! I am not sure exactly how I found your blog but I believe there was a link on Chris and Deb’s blog.(“Sophie’s World”)We were in their travel group and received our daughter Beatrice the same day they recieved Sophie.I followed your journey to Shepherd.I had never heard of the casting method and I am amazed at how well it has worked for your boys. You have a beautiful family!

Hi, I am not sure how I found your blog, maybe through RQ, maybe through a few others that I read often. We are from Hampton Virginia and have had our daughter home for one year. Having one child wears me out. You are an inspiration with you happy big family.
Hey, girl. I treked through Oakwood to log onto my girlfriend’s compooter JUST so I could check the blog out (and flatiron my hair). We are still powerless in our neck o’ the woods…but I HAD TO GET IN ON THE GIVEAWAY… :)…I found your blog because you TOLD me to log on way back in the day when you were still rockin’ the blogosphere on Xanga, baby, and have been addicted every since. LIke all these other people, obviously. Please pick me. I am so needing an encouragement. 🙂 Love you. Lis
Been a follower of your blogs since the beginning…you’ve paved the way for me and so many others in adoption, spirituality, and just mama-ing.
Thanks for all the beauty, wisdom, and fun you inspire : ))
Guess I should throw in my .02 as well. Not sure when I started reading your blog–perhaps when you posted that great entry about the hows and whys of special needs adoption–but it has become one of my favorites. I am absolutely taken with Shepherd!! 🙂 My niece (now 8) was born with bilateral club feet, and it’s a special need we would have willing done. Instead, we ended up with cl/cp, the same special need as a different niece. 🙂 Our families are similar in that we have both bio and adopted, and our bios are a bit older: 1 in college, 3 in high school, then the 2 little boys from China. Makes life fun!!
Blessings to you,
Okay, I’m a little late, but you know, not too late. I’ve been reading for a couple of weeks now…I think Google Reader might have suggested your blog, but don’t quote me like that. I’m looking forward to the day that I too get to adopt, pointing to the One who adopted me!
i don’t know how long i have read. but i enjoy reading.

Hi Stefanie and family. I found your blog from the CCAIWC group around the beginning of the year. You are a great inspiration to me and really opened my eyes to adopting boys. I love to check in to see how you are doing.
Hi! I’m a “lurker” and have been reading for many months now. I can’t even remember how I found your site, but I’ve been loving watching your family grow. You all have such big hearts – hats off to you really!
I have been reading your blog since Jude’s adoption. I found your blog on the ChinaAdoptionSites.com and have been following it every since then.
When I have a rough day with my 2 children, (one DS adopted USA, one DD from Guangxi China) I think about you and sometimes come a read from your blog. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family.
Hi there, I love reading your blog and I am pretty sure I found it through my adoption website.
We are waiting to adopt a little girl from Korea and I am a little hooked on adoption blogs right now!
Like everyone else said, you have been an inspiration- not just because of the adoptions, but because you have heard God’s call on your life and have chosen to step out in faith and answer it- trusting Him to guide you, even when it is very difficult.
Blessings to you and your family!

I found your blog just after you adopted Isabelle. I was researching special needs adoption and reading about her heart condition and surgery helped solidify our desire to help a child who needs help. We brought our sweet girl with ASD home in March ’07 and it turned out that the hole in her heart had healed itself, but there was an even greater emotional hole in her heart that we are still working on healing. You and your children are blessed that they don’t seem to have such big emotional scars to work on. I have four kids, and when I get crazy, I just read your blog to see how you gracefully handle your eight, and I am encouraged. Thanks for sharing your life and love with us!
