Sunday Snapshot: Christmas Cookies

Ahhh, the Christmas cookie. I’d love to be able to call this a Christmas tradition. But it’s not.

It’s really more of an excuse- for- mama- to- indulge- her- sweet- tooth- and- justify- it sort of a thing.

With bonus points for me because the kids think I’m a stinkin’ rock star for buying all those yummy candies for decorating.

Oh, how easy to deceive.

We start out with some basics: sugar cookie dough in a big pre-packaged hunk. Sliced, baked and ready to be annihilated decorated by a bunch of sugar crazed kiddos.

Add a ton of frosting.

And make faces at it if you like.

Go ahead, stick your finger in it, Shep-dog!

Sophie, pacing herself.

You just can not rush this girl.

Asher, working out the details on his ying yang sort of a fellow.

Isabelle loving the M&Ms and sprinkles.

In case you’d missed that.

Dalton gettin’ his artsy on with his cooks.

Check out the use of a thin mint as a nose.

This kid’s got talent.

And Jude workin’ it out with every candy on the table.

His all-time-favorite? The peppermint.

Testing. Testing. 1. 2. 3.

Ready to chow down on her chosen cookie.

Sour Patch person nose and all. Yumm-y!

Sophie proves that her cookie outcome was worth the dedicated effort.

Even? Straight? Equal distribution of colors?

Check, check aaaaand check.

“Okaaay, mom. Can I eat this thing yet?”

Asher. And his new friend “half and half man”.

Don’t ask.

I have no idea.

And finally, Jude’s creations. Untouched.

You see, Jude doesn’t eat cookies. He only decorates them.

Guess these are gonna have to be for me.

Happy Sunday Snapshot from all of us to all of you!

Great idea for a Sunday snapshot! I love seeing your kids getting their creative on. And creative they are! Not sure I'd want to eat some of those masterpieces (I prefer my cookies without gummy worms and peppermint patties, LOL), but they are each a work of art done by some amazingly cute kiddos!

I LOVE the last photo of all of you together… especially Shep's cute smile… so much enthusiasm!!

And may I add, that Jude seems to really be growing/changing lately…losing that tot look and definitely a true little boy face now. He has a special place in my heart since he and Khloe are from the same province!

Merry Christmas Stef!! Enjoy that "sweet" family of yours! (pun INTENDED!!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Jude, it's okay. I have a hubby that doesn't like too many sweets. He saves them for me. It makes him all the sweeter.

Stephanie, your cookie making looks like such fun. We always do Christmas cookies every year. My kids say it's one of their favorite memories.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing your lovely family with us.
