a break

I was in need of a tiny, ummm, mental break from the last few days. It’s been a little crazy ’round here.

And what better way to soothe ones soul than to putter around in Lightroom? And stare into the eyes of someone you love to the very core?

Ahhhh, I feel better already.

So today, I’m participating in Monica’s blog hop: Before and After.

And just as the name implies (sweet simplicity how I love you!) the gist is to take a picture and share it before, and yes, after.

So here’s my girl. In all her nekkid glory from the other day. This is the SOOC version. For you guys not hip with the lingo, that stands for straight out of the camera.

I know, where’s the ‘T’?

Whatever.

And below is the edited version. Okay, I admit. I went a little overboard. Kinda like too much makeup, eh?

But I’m so crazy for presets now (since I just found some I love and figured how ridiculously easy they are to use) it’s reaaaally hard to lay off.

Sort of like when I finally got my hands on a navy blue eyeliner pencil.

I edited this in LR2, a tiny crop, and I added Sarah-Ji’s “meadow” preset and upped the recovery a little (I usually set the exposure a hair high in all my pics to begin with) and darkened the edges.

I might have done some other stuff on accident. I can’t quite remember.

‘Cuz right now I’m into overdoing it a bit.

Check out Monica’s blog for more Before and After fun.

I like the middle pic best other than that I feel like your talking in a different language. Photonese ๐Ÿ˜‰

Always wanted to get into photography but never did. Hey, there is still plenty of time!

It's impossible to improve on Vivi's already precious face, but I love how you frame it. It's fun to see your before and after. (I wish I had your photography skills. I'm grateful to get a pic with eyes open.)

Thanks for your "Buckle Up" posts. I appreciate you sharing SOOYH (straight out of your heart) and backing it SOOB (straight out of the Bible).

    Much Love,
    Kathie

Lovely. I heart LR2 and am in beta of LR3 because I got my hands on some cute free storyboard/collage templates. That girl can take away all the stress and just plaster a smile on my face. I can't imagine what she does for her family

I love lightroom! So far, I've not really played around with the presets very much but you've inspired me to give it a try!
