Happy Father’s Day…
We spent the day yesterday at the local AA ballpark.
Watching baseball of course.
But first, we were taken on a tour of the facility.
First stop, the press box.
Where some of us tried on the crazy hats they use for games.
Then the real fun began. We go to visit the dugout of the visiting team. Where they laughingly asked us if we were John and Kate Plus 8.
Yeah. I think I just busted a gut on that one, funny man.
And then we got to visit the home team dugout.
Where, thankfully, there were no players present. Because we took up almost half the bench.
And because I was going to take a bat to any more wannabe comediens.
Then it was game time.
Which also meant snack time.
One of the perks of being in the military is that we sometimes get freebies.
And tickets to this game was one of those times.
What we didn’t know when we accepted the free tickets was that along with the tickets, each of us got a coupon for $10 worth of concession stand merchandise.
Can you say, “score”?!?
I’m not sure who was more excited, them or me.
Them, because they love to go fun places. And eat ball-park style junk food.
Pretzels, frozen lemonade, caramel corn, and french fries galore.
Or me, because I love ball-park style junk food. And eating such junk food keeps the kids quite content, and sitting in their seats.
At least until the sugar rush hits.
Here’s Zach, feeling the pain of Jude’s sugar rush.
Vivienne, all smiles as she toddled between our long row of seats. Managing to find her way to the person who had the snack she preferred at the moment.
Dalton and Asher, wondering whether this was heaven, or a ballpark.
And sitting in the front row, hoping to catch a foul ball.
Or a stray hot dog.
Yes, they throw hot dogs out to the crowd. And yes, I would have let him eat that hot dog had he caught it.
Shepherd, still in disbelief that he was able to consume an entire Super-Pretzel without one person asking for a bite.
Except mama.
Vivi, really feeling that frozen lemonade by about the sixth inning.
How can you not smile at a smile like that?
And Sophie, jazzed about the extra caramel corn that came her way.
It was a great night. And although I really have no interest, whatsoever, in baseball… even I somehow managed to really enjoy myself.
Because it’s pretty hard to witness these precious kiddos absolutely loving life, and not find yourself loving life as well.
It was a pretty great warm-up for Father’s Day.
For a guy who seriously loves baseball.
But even more, he loves his kids.
Happy Father’s Day.
From your loving crew.
Yeah. I know it’s an awful picture. But we still love you…. very, very much.

Awesome! We go to a bunch of games and have hit some of the AA and AAA parks. My other 1/2 runs a website as a hobby of all the parks across the US. We went to a "Bark in the Park" last month where fans could bring their 4 legged friends. Lots of fun
I'm SO glad I waited to comment –'cuz then I got to come back and see the great bball game photos! SO fun! The kiddos look like they had a great time! (I have to say I giggled at the Jon & Kate + 8 comment! so sorry!) Happy Father's Day!
We love baseball too! Me and the younger three mostly like it for the food (and people watching) but my older three (husband included) love the game.
What a great night you all had. Thanks for sharing!
Happy Father's Day!
Jennifer

Looks like SUCH a fun outing….I am drooling over lL THt junk food ($10 concession certificates—that IS heaven!!) Your photos really capture how much fun it was. I am not a huge baseball fan (except Harry's little league) and I had fun seeing it through your family's eyes.
Chris sounds like an amazing Dad. I hope he had a great day!!!!!
Looks like awesome fun!
Wow, it looks like such a great night!! I never, ever thought I would be such an avid soccer fan, but when all 5 of your kids play, you had better develop a love of the game – and fast!!! LOL!
Glad you all had such a wonderful time!
Stefanie, one question. My number never seems to show up on my link. What am I doing wrong???
Great weekend updates – as always great pics – and mostly – love, family, and fun – very very cool!

What a beautiful day! Sounds like the father in your family got all his favorites and blessings in one place. Fun! Fun! Fun!
We love baseball here at our humble abode!!!
Perfect Father's Day outing!!!

Free tickets and concessions for EVERYONE? Score! (Although y'all earn it every single day as a military family.)
And Camden Yards is known as having some of the BEST ballpark food in the nation. Just so you know. I mean, if that gets y'all down here, I'll take it.
As much as you hate being called, "Jon and Kate," I am somewhat happy to know that I am not the only one who gets those comments. UGH!! I even thought about making myself a t-shirt that said, "No, I'm NOT Kate." Sigh…
The freebies at the baseball game…COOL! ๐ Looks like so much fun!
