Y’all might remember me mentioning our refrigerator.
And my initial desire to ‘upgrade’, based on my certainty that this tiny, outdated unit would simply not suffice for a family our size.
Well, the darn thing never fails to surprise me. It’s small. It’s basic. But it somehow manages to hold all the groceries we attempt to fill it with every Thursday. Which is grocery day.
Everyone pitches in when mama comes home with groceries. Something about “if you want to eat this week, you better help” seems to motivate them.
Sweet Asher has designated himself “refrigerator manager”. He seems to prefer organizing the refrigerated goods over lugging in the bags from the car or putting away the other groceries.
So, we let him have at it.
Most weeks, he’s still working on the refrigerator when we’re all finished. And since he’s a guy who prefers to work alone, we stand around and watch cheer him on.
He likes that.
He takes his job seriously. He even sometimes eats some stuff to make room for more stuff.
How I love a man who works hard for the money.
Unfortunately for my sweet boy, I have an obsession with cheese products. And processed meats. And he has to pay for it with lots and lots of time spent deciding how to manage the excess.
And he does it with nary a complaint. I love you, son.
Once again, the little refrigerator holds it all. Packed by the master (and the Master), to the brim.

Impressive! Think he can come over and do mine? There's only 2 people's worth of food in ours ๐

That's a really neat story. I think he's just wonderful for doing things his way. When I was his age and lived with my sister for the summer, I didn't want to do dishes. Instead, I agreed to do everyone's laundry, including folding it. It worked out great for all of us and I enjoyed my contribution. Before that, they just left piles of clean laundry on a pool table in the garage.

Ok, seriously. I need to rent that boy to work on my fridge. Seeing what a good job he does on yours puts mine to shame. SHAME, I say!
And if you don't mind, I think I'll just go ahead and put him on my short list for a son-in-law someday.
Good men are hard to find. He's definitely a keeper!

How do you keep your fridge so clean? Is that part of the organizer's job too? ;o)

I feel the same way about packing my van on trips. A bellman at Disney tried to just throw stuff in there. My husband warned him to "back off". ๐

So I'm gonna be TOTALLY practical here. I only see 4 gallons of milk there! Is that for the whole week? Milk is my refridgerator demon! I can't figure out where to put it all. Thus more trips to the grocery. Our family of 8 drinks more than 4 gallons a week.
Signed,
What's a girl whose large family loves milk supposed to do?

What a sweet boy! We don't drink milk here so we have that going for us (almond or rice mile but not a lot). But I cannot squeeze in all of the produce most of the time…I need an Asher too!!!!

I could use a refrigerator organizer myself! Great job Asher!
