Sunday Snapshot: {football}

It’s Sunday. Which means it’s time for a Sunday Snapshot.

And this Sunday? All I’ve got is what I’ve been living for the last few weeks. Five days a week with a game thrown in on the weekend…

Football.

If you’ve been around here for long, you know I don’t love the football.

But I do love my boy.

And he loves the football.

This is Asher’s second year to play.

Which means it’s our second year to watch.

Woohooo.

Even if I don’t love football, I do love watching my boy do something he enjoys.

Watching him learn to work with his teammates.

To win gracefully.

To lose gracefully.

To be part of a team, working toward a common goal.

Even if I don’t completely appreciate that goal. Or the reasoning behind that goal.

I can still cheer him on from the sidelines.

***********************************************************

I made my way over to visit all y’all that posted links last week. Good stuff all around. I loved Shannon’s post about her great-grandparents. I loved Jenny’s post about waiting to meet her future daughter.

But my favorite? Was at Room for At Least One More where Wife of the Pres shares about all of her kiddos, as they settle into a family recently grown by two.

To participate in Sunday Snapshot this week, just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed.

Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine ๐Ÿ™‚

Then add your link below. And don’t worry if your number doesn’t show up. For some reason, you can’t see your own number. But it is there.

Happy Sunday, y’all!

Oh, I LOVE watching my guy play too! This week was a heart-breaker. 40-0. Lots of injuries, lots of mistakes, lots of dejection. And yes, I am cheering and screaming from the stands, regardless of the outcome.

And the more I watch, the more I love it. I scream and cheer for my Eagles, too. I know, you are so surprised, aren't you? ๐Ÿ™‚

Hoping to get a good shot or two of Dr. D this week. Last week's game was too awful.

Well, we are a soccer family! All 5 kids play and hubby coaches and me, well I drive – and cheer – and, yes I admit, sometimes YELL!! Hehe! I know what you mean, Stefanie about watching your boy play. I do love to watch my kids play and have fun! Asher looks so grown up in his football gear!!! What position does he play?

All boys need a try at football and I agree…I'm pretty sure those sisters were hooting and hollaring for their big brother!

I understand the not lovin' football so much. I'm holding my breath that my tiny guy decides that soccer is his sport…
But, like you, if he decides to play football, I'll be on those sidelines, cheering my heart out!

Our kids have tried soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. My least fave is football, but my Jacob loves it and is in his 3rd year. Three games this week, 2 cheerin' for my boy…still don't really get it. Oh, well.
    Blessings,
    Monica

I love being a fan for my kids! It's been a wild ride b/c they all seem to love something different, but it's so cool that way! Kade started tackle football this year & LOVES it.

I love the game of football, but it must be hard–and exciting–to watch as a mama! Great pictures!

Great photos. I'm glad football is a sport that hasn't ever interested my son. That year he did wrestling was SO SO painful. Wrestling matches are just ugly. I'd prefer football over that.

As a football mama myself, I totally understand…only thing is, I love football so it's pretty fun to watch their games.
Madeline, my boys are starting their 5th year in wrestling….love that too, but you're right, it's not for the faint-hearted mom.

Great action moments Stephanie. What a good mama to cheer along your boy while not in like with the game.

(Ahem….can't wait to see another kind of picture. Sigh……….)

It's amazing the things we'll do as mamas! I'm not a football fan either but if I had a child playing, I'd be just like you….and sitting there, cheering him on at every game!

That was a nice SS – good seeing the guys doing what they love!

As for the Vivi post – he is SO not spoiling her – he's just "meeting her needs"….K? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    hugs – aus and co.

What a good mom you are to find the joy in what could easily be the tedious. I kind of feel the same way about watching soccer but shhh, don't tell.

    Have a great week!

I can't remember if I left a comment somewhere or not, so here goes ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been reading your fantastic blog about your awesome family the past few days, and praying if God would have us adopt again.. Our family thinks 5 kids is nuts enough, but if you guys can thrive on the craziness, maybe we can too ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have 4 bio kids and a 4-yr old from China, and we have always wondered about going back for a sibling.. Your blog has been very encouraging about pursuing SN adoption – thank you!

Now, if we could just settle down in one place long enough to do a homestudy?! (Trying to sell our house in New England, and meanwhile renting short term here and there and having adventures, wondering where God would want us long term..)

Anyways, a long comment.. I have a football lover in my family too, but it isn't me ๐Ÿ˜‰
