Sunday Snapshot: {shave and a haircut}

Today’s to-do list included a duty I really don’t look forward to.

In fact, I avoid it like the plague. For as long as I possibly can.

But, eventually, the facts are too hard to ignore.

My kids needed a haircut.

And, by process of elimination, I’m the only man for the job.

But I didn’t start my 2.5-hour tour without some tools of the trade.

The absolutely, positively, necessary iced coffee.

The tunes.

And the $19.99 clipper set I bought at TJ M@xx a few years ago… and swore I’d get my money’s worth out of it.

Which took me approximated one really bad haircut to accomplish.

Next up was Isabelle.

This girl loves to get her hair cut.

She always asks for “short”. And holds her flattened hand up by the top of her ear.

Momma don’t do that short.

Then Miss Sophie Lu threw me a curve ball.

And asked for short as well. She held her flattened hand right by her chin. And reaffirmed several times that she wanted it as short as Isabelle’s.

Feeling like a wild child, Sophie was pretty pumped to see all that hair falling to the ground.

Not gonna lie. I’m going to have a hard time telling these two apart from behind now.

Miss Vivienne would not be left out.

She jumped up on the stool when it was her turn.

And smiled her little heart out. God love this child.

And yes, I did fix her bangs later.

Jude was next.

He’d been outside playing all afternoon. And I have no idea what was going on with his hair, although I suspect it was dried Kool-@id.

But we fixed all that.

At least, as best I could.

Because I am lots of things, but most definitely not a hair dresser.

Thankfully, my kids don’t seem too concerned about my lack of credentials.

Or skills.

Yet.

Chocolate chips can go a long, long way.

My most favorite Snapshot from last week was Ginny’s, over at 4 U Ruthie. First of all, that Ruthie is positively adorable. And you should see all the fun they had on their day out. Great pictures… and that Ginny is one laid-back mama, too ๐Ÿ™‚

To participate in Sunday Snapshot this week, just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed. Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine ๐Ÿ™‚

Then add your link below. And don’t worry if your number doesn’t show up. For some reason, sometimes you can’t see your own number. But it is there.

Happy Sunday, y’all!

Great job on the hair cuts! I do my boys hair, too. Just did my college boy's on Friday. I put it off… and they don't want to cooperate until the most inconvenient time for ME! LOL!!

You are brave!!! I do all the haircuts around here, but my family all have super thick curly hair. It hides the learning curve.

Is there nothing you can't do? Amazing. They all look beautiful! Cutting hair is one skill I would love to have. It would save me so much money! I would especially like to be able to cut my own since I can never get it cut just the way I like it ๐Ÿ™‚

You've got skills! The hack job I do grooming the dog doesn't bode well for future kids' cuts!

I am so impressed….I would not even attempt this with my kids. They ALL look GREAT! You could open a little business (because I am sure you have nothing else to do, right?) Love the black and whites too. Yum..iced coffee!

I have been cutting my husband, my dad and my kids hair for years. I must say that for all the boys, one style of haircut is all I do! It is the same for each head and if they want different a shaved head is the options. =)

    Cute kids!!

Every time I cut the Tongginator's hair, it ends up being four inches too short. You know, because I even it out one way. And then I even it out the other way. And then… bwwwaahahaha!

They look great! I cut my kids hair too but the boys had to go and have wavy hair! UGH! How much easier it would be to cut if it were nice and straight!! LOL! I will have to get my clippers out next time! Did you see the Parent's mag article showing you exactly how to cut your own kids' hair??

Love the pics – something so artistic about B&W… And kudos on the haircuts – it's really quite amazing, to be able to cut all that hair in one day, and do all those different textures and styles. I'm impressed. I tried to do our cuts for most of the Gang when we first moved here and they all begged me to stop ๐Ÿ™‚ But now, The Boss shaves himself and two of the boys and the rest of us squeak by and stretch the trims as far apart as we can. Great job.

I don't post very often, but I visit daily. My daughter loves to visit, too. She is 7 and she loves to see the pictures of your beautiful children. And me, they always make me smile. Sending prayers as you begin another journey to another wonderful child. And I love, love their proud haircut smiles!
