Sunday Snapshot: {celebrating Sophie}

Although she turned seven last Thursday,

Sophie had to wait until Sunday to celebrate her big day officially.

But I think it was worth the wait to have her daddy home.

And her mama restored to sanity.

We returned to the spot where we celebrated Dalton’s birthday, at Sophie’s request.

The other kiddos were pretty jazzed as well.

The upside of having lots of siblings?

You get to attend a lot of birthday parties.

Sophie was thrilled to open the gift she’d asked for, months ago.

A Niu Niu doll.

Meanwhile, Vivienne got caught up on daddy time… she really misses him when he’s away.

We all miss him when he’s away.

Then time for birthday cake.

This year, a welcomed break from Hello Kitty, Sophie asked for chocolate chip cookie cake.

I’d never actually made one, but Sophie asked.

So I did my best.

and the verdict was a good one.

Honestly though, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies, covered in frosting.

at least in our neck of the woods.

Not counting Jude.

The party continued with the kids playing some pool,

playing Xbox,

more pool,

hanging out just looking adorable,

more snacking,

and waiting for the main event, Megamind, to begin.

Which, as an aside, was a very cute movie.

Happy Birthday to you, Sophie Lu.

Our beautiful 7 year old.

We are incredibly blessed to be your family.

You are KILLING me with that cookie cake. We are fasting all sweets, treats, and sugary extras for this season of prayer and fasting that our church does annually. Yesterday was a BATTLE with the flesh!

Love the pics and Happy Birthday Sophie – what a gorgeous smile you have πŸ™‚

Happy Birthday Sophie! My Dumpling #2 (dearest son) turned 7 on Thursday too. We got a pittance of snow that day, but since it's Oklahoma of course school was closed, so he has to wait until this Thursday to do his celebration at school.

I think stretching out birthdays are really fun. I like to celebrate "Birthday Week." πŸ™‚
