He’s been home for three and a half years.
And today he turned five.
He woke this morning to a chorus of his brothers and sisters singing “Happy Birthday”.
Not singing especially well, but he seemed to enjoy it.
Okay, at least it succeeded in waking him up.
As birthday boy, he was entitled to a few privelidges.
He had his choice of breakfast…
a few Danimals and a side of Life cereal.
He had his choice of video before school…
Thomas the Train – the new one.
He had his choice of lunch before the bus arrived…
Ramen. Oriental flavor, thank you.
And he left for school with his choice of snack for the day…
a Thomas the Train juice sipper and a whole lotta Wal-M@rt Valentine’s cookies.
Shhh. Don’t tell him they’re for Valentine’s Day. He thinks the heart cookies were made just for him.
But this mama’s heart? It was made just for him.
Will you join me in wishing my big boy a happy birthday on this, his very special day?
I know he’d love it, and so would I!
