a lighting strike

9 times out of 10, I take pictures of just one of my kids at a time.

Because it’s so. much. easier. to capture just one face.

But on this day, it was like a lightening strike.

I had no idea it was going to happen,

where it came from,

or when it might happen again.

I just understood the weight of the occurrence.

Seven of ’em.

Looking in the same general direction.

Not frowning.

Or fussing.

Just having fun. And looking ridiculously adorable.

Of course, I had no idea this good fortune was coming my way. Or I’d have chosen a different venue, to be sure.

One without a Pepsi machine in the background.

But this mama will take what she can get.

And blow it up and frame it.

So glad you had the wherewithal to grab the lens and shoot. Think I would have frozen inshock, or worse, celebrated prematurely with a little choco, and gotten my sticky fingers all over the lens and in the way of the money shot. You done good.

    cute!

And I like Pepsi, so overall, these pictures make me feel warm and fuzzy and happy all over. I mean, really, what is better that that many adorable children – happy AND Pepsi!

Love it! I am in awe. I can barely get my two looking in the same direction. I particularly love the nibbling on the arm shots–that is a brother! Congrats on capturing the moment, Mama!

Honestly, those are some great shots of your beautiful crew & the background is not what anyone is looking at! Of course, there’s always Photoshop to clean that up if it bothers you too much:D Good job capturing not ONE but several great pictures of your 7!

That is a wonderful picture of the gang … and I was amused by the Pepsi machine in the background, too. Also, I noticed the new sidebar of the kiddos and just wanted to say what a nice tribute to Esther you’ve added.

    God bless!

Not in 51 years of life and 26+ of parenthood have I been able to accomplish that – WAY TO GO!! And as for the Pepsi machine – hey – there’s always lightroom! ๐Ÿ˜‰

As for your numbers post – I remember the celebrations we’d have when we finally got our adopted kids ‘on the charts’ – I’ll take all those numbers!

    hugs – aus and co.

you could easily knock the background down in value and saturation while still keeping your kids in good light with the help of Photoshop/Lightroom/Aperture or any other digital photo adjustment program.

Put a little dark border vignette in PS around it and that Pepsi machine? History.
    INCREDIBLE photo!
I have a hard time with just getting 3 to look in the same general direction and smile!
Lightening strike indeed. A treasure for sure!
