I didn’t even have to work at this one.
At church this morning, Jude received a kite as a “prize”.
Between the time this kite was placed into Jude’s sweaty little hands and the time we arrived home, this kite was brought up in conversation no less than 2,489 times.
So, after lunch we went outside to give this kite a whirl.
Honestly, I had my doubts as to its ability to even get airborne.
But the kids were ridiculously excited.
I simply could not refuse to give it a try.
And so I ventured out.
Somewhat begrudgingly.
And somewhat concerned that I might step in dog poop.
What fun we had with that dollar store kite.
To think I *almost* missed out on capturing this afternoon as a Sunday Snapshot.
Thankfully, after hearing shrieks and squeals emanating from the back yard, Chris came out.
And he told me I should go get my camera.
I’m so glad I listened to that man.
This is the stuff I don’t want to forget.

Happy Sunday, y’all.
Okay! That was weird!!! You must have posted the SS at the EXACT SAME MOMENT I was linking up… It said “page not found” and then it was found! ๐ Crazy timing.
But great shots – such crisp clear colors and the smiles?! Oh, the smiles! Pure delight.
Beautiful photos, beautiful memories!
Kites really are magical, aren’t they!? We just flew them last week for our end of the year Sunday School party. The kiddos were happy as can be!
Your kiddos’ smiles are SO delightful!
Oh my goodness!!! I just love the picture of the dog chasing after one of the littles as he’s flying the kite! Pure joy!
Is that a kool-aid smile I see in that last picture? So adorable! Love all the green! It looks like a wonderful spring day in New England!
Glad you got your camera…what a fun Sunday afternoon!
You should frame the 3rd picture.
So much fun! ๐ Your little Viv is adorable!!!
Looks like a fun sunshiny day filled with laughter. I so get it…THOSE are the moments I want etched in my brain too:)_
Oh, what a precious moment for all. Seems everyone had a lot of fun.
Love seeing a bit of your Sunday with your crew!!! wonderful memories.
Isn’t it amazing how such simple things can bring so much joy? I’m down with free fun! ๐ Great photos, as always.
(and Jude is getting so big kid looking! :O)
Aw, there’s just something about kids and kites, isn’t there? I don’t think our girls have ever successfully flown a kite (shhh, don’t tell them that) but that doesn’t mean they love them any less!
True enough – these are the things to bottle up and save forever! In particular I LOVE the Chris running with your daughter on his shoulders flying that kite – so very cool! and so what if you step in some scrunch – what’s a little poop betweeen friends!
hugs – aus and co.
How is it that your sweet Vivi gets more adorable by the day? I thought she’d already reached the pinnacle of adorableness.
Your pictures are adorable!! What a great day!! I just stumbled upon your blog & I love it! I’m your newest follower. =)
What wonderful captures of so much family fun! Nothing is more precious than joy on a child’s face! Glad it was fun.
It’s amazing how one little kite can bring about so much fun and lots of great memories!!
OK–our family needs your family to give us some kite-flying lessons. We CANNOT get them off the ground. So frustrating! Glad you were able to get the kite in the air. ๐
