I know, this is late.
And I only have two pictures to show for the entire day.
Forgive me. A half-dozen episodes of Lost are to blame.
Zach and I huddled around the laptop last night. For, ahem… a few hours.
Poppy perched in my lap, surrounded by some Wasabi peas, Cup o’ Noodles and milk flavored wafer cookies.
Somehow, it was very, very good for all of us.
Poppy continues to make small strides.
She’s sleeping better.
She’s eating a tiny bit better.
She’s making some efforts to play on her own, but really doesn’t want to do much more than sit.
I’m hopeful that some big changes are in her not-too-distant future.
Yesterday we spent at the Notary’s office. And the mall. And the grocery.
Poppy in my arms the whole time and mostly content to look around and soak it all in.
Found a thing or two for the kiddos at home. And Zach scored some Chinese jeans.
It was a good day.
Off to her medical exam today.
We’ll get to spend some time on Shamian Island afterward.
Not gonna lie, I’m very much looking forward to being on the Island for a bit.
Sensing some Cow and Bridge in our very near future.
Thanks for checking in on us, y’all. And thanks for all the prayers – they are being felt, for sure.

OK, I love the pic of you and Poppy.
But.
That second pic, that is one that just gets my attention.
I love to look for DETAILS.
I notice the umbrellas. It must be hot. And why is no one staring at you (the camera) or Zach??? This does not seem like China.
And I guess the couple to Zach’s right (looking at the photo) also found some China jeans?
๐
Leslie says
And where are all of the people? This is not nearly as crowded as I remember. Oh, yeah, it is HOT.
Thanks for blogging your trip. I loved the mental image of you all glued to the laptop watching US TV while Poppy had her comfort foods in Mommy’s lap.

Just curious as to how long you will stay in China. Also, in the city photo of Zach, I love that I saw a KFC and a Papa John’s and is that an ABC logo (television?) Gorgeous photos of baby Poppy and of Zach and the city.

Thanks for taking the time to post an update. I notice in the first picture that beautiful Poppy looks to be holding on to her mommy tighter than ever (another baby step in the right direction, yay!). ๐ Poppy seems determined tocontinue to guard her little heart from further hurt in life….but every day, hour, minute, second, little by little, you are earning her trust with your consistent, patient, loving care. I’m so glad for her that she has you!!
