our day

Summer is drawing to a close.

The first day of school is just around the corner. And I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Just keepin’ it real.

Today, in an effort to expend some, ahem… excess energy – and to avoid making even more of a mess around our new place – we ventured out.

As far as the small paddock on the side of the house.

Where our little 3-stall barn is nestled.

Isn’t it sweet?

And doesn’t it scream, “Bring me a pony?”

Moving on.

The goal was to collect all the felled pine cones and move them into the nearby woods.

Clearly, Poppy is exceedingly excited at the prospect.

Eventually though, our task was complete. The pine cones were collected.

And we were hot.

So we moved on to the next task.

Popsicle eating.

Which went over much better with the 7 and under crowd.

Praying that our outdoor efforts pay off in sweet dreams tonight. For all of us.

P.S. Cannot wait to show y’all more of our new place. God seriously hooked us up!

It screams PONY and PHOTOS. Look into hippotherapy horses. Sometimes organizations have them for children with “special needs” though that’s a big word for our little perfect kiddos. Can’t wait to see more

Wow ~ did your fam move while you were away in China? I knew it was coming up soon. You guys are supreme multi-taskers!

Of course, if you get one pony, you must get three! (As a fellow horsewoman, I know you know why ~ one horse is too lonely as a herd by itself, so you get a second horse, but then when you take one out for a ride, that leaves the other to go berserk alone in the field. So you have to get a third!)

Your place looks lovely! I hope you are settling in nicely!

    All the best,
    Nicole A., now in LA

You have a BARN? Are you serious? If you only have room for one pony, get your pony goat friend! Seriously, they get along fabulously, eat all of your bramble, need practically no care at all, and are pretty hilarious pets.

I must see the house that goes with this barn! It looks like a fabulous setting.

Wow…gorgeous barn! I was wondering about the kitchen pics. ๐Ÿ™‚ So are you still in my neck of the woods or are you far away now? Went to Children’s the other day and thought of you. So happy for you to have such an amazing place and can’t wait to see more photos!!! We have been hoping, dreaming, praying for a place with a barn and a few acres for so long. I had almost given up the dream until I saw your pic and now it renews my hope and motivates me to keep praying! ๐Ÿ™‚

That little parn does scream…….pony, but it also screams “every photographers dream” especially when it is in your own back yard:))

I just cannot get over Poppy….. the transformation in such a short period of time is nothing short of amazing., She has come to life before our eyes and with each post, you can see her emerging more and more.

Can’t wait to see more of your new place!

    Enjoy your weekend~

    xoxo,

    Lisa
