    • Sunday Snapshot

Today is the day.

13 days ago it was my birthday. And I asked y’all to partner with me to help heal a broken heart.

8 days ago Meredith and I talked about who would be the recipient of this effort. The one who, right now, most needed it. And we decided it would be for Joy.

As always, God’s timing is perfect and, although sooner than expected, the day we’ve been working for has arrived.

Today is the day Joy will receive what we hope will be her broken-heart-healing surgery.

From Meredith:

“Joy is going in for surgery that will hopefully completely heal her heart. They expect her to do well, though it will be complicated!

Surgery should begin at 6 PM tonight. Please pray for the doctor’s wisdom and skill, than her body would adjust quickly to her new cardiac anatomy, and that she would recover quickly and easily to be moved out of ICU as soon as possible.”

So far, incredibly, over $9000 has been raised for this surgery which is estimated to cost $10,000. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we, this community of regular folks who happen to share a heart for the fatherless, could fund Joy’s entire surgery?

You can still continue to shop on behalf of baby Joy, all proceeds will go to fund this life-giving surgery.

Please keep Joy in your prayers right now, into tonight and over the next few difficult days. Especially until Meredith and her nanny are able to be with her again.

And to everyone who has purchased a So Loved and so generously participated in working alongside Meredith and Morning Star, thank you. You are a part of giving baby Joy every chance at a happy ending. And what a story He is writing in her life.

Sing praises to the Lord, O you His saints, and give thanks to His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment, and His favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
– Psalm 30:4-5
