Sophie turned 5 recently. Over a month ago, to be exact. We did celebrate her big day with a full-out Hello Kitty party, and the most fantastic Hello Kitty cake on the planet (thank you, Colleen!!) But the truth be told, the pictures from our little fete were awful. There wasn’t enough light in the room and I had to set the shutter speed so slow that everything was a blur. Yuk.
So I opted to get some pictures at a later date to commemorate her big day. These are of her with her beloved Build-A-Be@r that she got from her G.G. (aka my mom). G.G requested that Sophie get a picture of herself and said bear (that she chose to name “Kitty”, fittingly) and Sophie did not want to disappoint. She was on me for a week about getting these pictures of her. And her bear.
So here they are, G.G. And to sweeten the deal, I’ve added an impromptu interview with our big five-year-old…
Mom: Sooo, how does it feel to be five?
Sophie: Good. Happy. Because I’m big and cuz I like my stuff from my birthday. Like my bear. And my big puppy.
Sophie: My Kitty stuff. My mom and dad (honestly, she said that) and the candy that I got. And playing with my toys downstairs. I’m happy about Seamus (the new dog, whom she truly does love) because I love him so much. And Velvet, too. (the old dog, whom she doesn’t love so much)
Mom: And what can you do now that you couldn’t do when you were only four?
Sophie: Like, draw really great. And good. I love my clothes that are bigger, more than my little clothes. Like when you’re three.
