We’re off to Boston this morning for an appointment with the kiddos at Boston’s Children. It will be a follow up for Jude and Shepherd, as their clubfoot has been corrected and they only require twice yearly visits. But for Vivi, this will be her first visit with an orthopedist to see how her little tootsies are doing. We also… Read More
gorgeous
Yesterday was Isabelle’s cardiac check up. In case you’re new, or curious, Isabelle came home from China in May 2005 at 11 months. With a half-dollar sized hole in her heart. She underwent a very successful open heart surgery when she was 18 months old. And she’s been one healthy little booger ever since. In the spring after her surgery,… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: Vivienne
Ahhh, Vivienne. It wasn’t long ago I had some very real worries about this little one joining our family. And when I said I was scared, I really meant it. But now, well… just look at her. Scared? Me? Of her? Obviously, I had too much time on my hands. Vivienne is truly delightful. And I have fallen for her… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: Isabelle
Ahhh, Isabelle. She was and continues to be my mystery. I feel like she and I are connected at the very soul, yet I often find myself straining to understand her. To know her. Lately, she’s decided she wants to be a baby again. She sleeps with a picture of herself at 11 months, taken on her ‘gotcha day’, propped… Read More

Is there something in the air? The water? There have been some extraordinary posts going on lately. I want to point you in the direction of two in particular I have been blessed by today. If you haven’t already been there, read it and posted a comment, I recommend you go. Now. Kris, on the No Hands But Ours blog,… Read More
what it isn’t
We’ve spent the last few weeks toting sweet Shepherd to numerous appointments. The gastroinerologist. The endocrinologist. And most unfortunately for Shep, the phlebotomist. We’ve gotten all the results back from the testing that’s been completed so far. And we still don’t know what *it* is.(Shepherd came home in June 2008. His SN was clubfoot. His clubfoot was corrected and, therefore,… Read More
more. cuteness.
Word. AAC has added six girls to their already outrageously adorable list of waiting kiddos. Molly is 19 months old. Chubby. Missing her left forearm. Crazy cute. Amelia is 9 months old. Cleft lip and palate. Big bright eyes. Captivating smile. I know. Sometimes the cuteness is just too much.
cuteness
Be still my heart. AAC just posted a new list of 22 waiting kiddos. Dylan: Almost 2 with corrected clubfoot. And cute as a bug. Rylan: Will turn 2 at the end of this month. And positively precious. Look at your own discretion. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. P.S. And if you’re up for even more cuteness, check out… Read More
Sunday snapshot: Isabelle
This post isn’t so much for you as it is for me. When I wrote ‘thankful’ the other day, it required that I look back at some of the old stuff. Stuff I’d already forgotten, it happened so long ago. Like two whole years ago. I have got to lay off the aspartame. So, without further ado, I’ll be posting… Read More
thankful
Watching Jude run fills my heart with joy. Like just about any mama, watching her child. But it also fills me with indebtedness, gratitude and thankfulness. Jude couldn’t even stand on his own when we met him in China as a 16 month old with uncorrected bilateral clubfoot. His ankles were bruised from his attempts to try and stand, and… Read More
