First words

Tori’s first words after waking up from the anesthesia: “You have two noses. And four eyes.”
We’ve been home since 12:00 and she’s a bit more coherent now ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Aw, the poor dear. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just went through this a month ago, so let me give you some unsolicited advice.

    1) Take the narcotic they perscribe to you about four hours after she gets home. This way it will kick in BEFORE the anestesia (sp?) wears off.

    2) Use LOTS of ice. It really helps with swelling and pain management.

    3) Don’t eat anything that isn’t liquid the first (or sometimes second) day. I ate some mac & cheese and a cupcake right when I got home, before the drugs wore off from the surgery, and I was DYING that evening.

    4) Don’t mess with the sitches/incision with your tongue. I was curious and poked around in there, again, before the anestesia wore off. BAD idea!

So there’s my advice. I layed in bed for three days, as I could literally not stand up. I guess I am a wuss, but it was my first time ever having surgery. Pamper her, and let her stay in bed. She’s lucky – she has lots of siblings to fetch her things. ๐Ÿ™‚

If she throws up because she swallowed blood (gross, but it only takes a little bit to make us throw up)have her place a tea bag over the area. The tanic acid will help it clot, and then no more bleeding or vomiting.
