Saying goodbye

We spent last week attending various award presentations, class parties and play days… all ways of closing out what was a truly fantastic school year. We have been blessed with amazing teachers for all of our kids and they have excelled under their care. Asher received the Citizenship award, the only award that was voted on by other class members. He also received the Art award πŸ™‚ Dalton’s and Isabelle’s classes did not give out awards, but Dalton’s teacher shared with me that he and 2 other children were the best readers in the entire kindergarten, all of them reading at 2nd grade level… at the END of their 2nd grade year! Isabelle has made such huge strides, her teachers and therapists all shared how amazed they have been to witness the transformation she has made this year. She has made such huge strides! If we sound proud, it’s because we are πŸ™‚
I couldn’t help but get misty as we were leaving school on that last day. How does one say, “Thank you” to someone who has had such an impact on your child’s life? From teachers to bus drivers to therapists and helpers… so many people who have played an important part. And for our children, letting go of friends that have become so dear is always hard. But this year it was made even harder because we know we won’t be back. I guess it’s just part of being a military family. And yet, knowing that God has a plan for us, a perfect plan, makes every sadness worthwhile. And it’s an opportunity for us to teach our children to look forward to the new blessings that God has in store, just around the corner πŸ™‚

These photo’s are stunning. It is amazing that you caught the one that shows your daughter face through the bubble, (my personal favorite)

Counting down the days with you, till you precious son is in your arms.

    Hugs,

    Krista

I know I haven’t posted much to you, but I’ve been around lurking. Your kids are so great, and so smart. I would be teary eyed as well. Can’t wait to see all the great things Shepherd is going to be learning when he gets home.

I’m so excited for your soon to be travels, and can’t wait to follow along.

    Stefani,

You are one lucky mommy:) Such wonderful kids and counting days to hold your baby in your arms.

Isabella’s pics are awesome, I am so happy that she is doing so well. Sophie looks so content and of course Jude is just a doll. The boys are so handsome.

Good luck and have a safe trip.

Very well said, we move around a lot too and it is very hard on our oldest. I am going to tell him what you just said, about looking forward to what God has in store for us. Thank you!

Goodbyes are always hard. We’ve moved about 10 times in 14 years and the last one was by far the hardest…now we will be doing it again.
Good luck. Can’t wait to follow your journey to Shepard.

Yes – though we are not an active military family, most of Melissa’s classmates are and many are moving and won’t be back next year, or even in 2 weeks. One of those things I guess – Thanks for pointing out God’s plan in all of it, both for us and for the other families, as it is a christian school. I was hoping today that some may be reassigned together. Stacy
