Hardwoods: before and after

Here’s our living room, lovely tan 80’s tile on the fireplace, carpet not lookin’ too bad on the top…

But check it out from the bottom! GROOOSSSS!!! I knew my nose was right! We were so glad to get this nasty carpet out of our house… even the subfloor looked better than the bottom of that carpet!

Done! We had the fireplace tiled with multicolored slate and I love the way it all turned out! We’re not done decorating, but for now, it’s perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

Family room before… my wonderful husband was in the process of ripping that stinky carpeting out

And Isabelle was enjoying life, as usual ๐Ÿ™‚

After! It’s smells and LOOKS so much better!

YEAH!!

looks fantastic Stef! I know what you mean, our house was horrific when we bought it! the previous owners ahd febreeezed the carpet and it wasnt until after we had the cleaner come through that the stench was released! We had to rip em up asap because two months later we got Piper!!!

Everything looks fab, you guys are super decorators, we’ve been in our house 3 years and it still feels like a college dorm!

I had similar carpet to yours when I first moved in and now hardwoods – aren’t they fabulous! Your rooms look brand new, as does your fireplace! Was that a pool I spotted outside the huge windows – I’m extremely jealous over here. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Stef,

It’s been a LONG time since I popped over here … what beautiful floors! Can I ask what brand you picked? Also, where did you move to? I moved from Atlanta to Maryland last year, and my house needs new floors too! ๐Ÿ™
