what 8 looks like

Dalton turned 8 today.

My youngest biological baby.

I was sorta sad. Guess it means I don’t have much of an excuse for these muffin tops and jelly belly anymore.

Anyway. Back to the birthday boy.

For some reason, the kids didn’t have school today.

Dalton liked to think it was in honor of his big day.

To further celebrate, we ventured out to his very favorite restaurant on the planet.

Which also meant that siblings got to eat at their favorite restaurant on the planet.

Even siblings who really don’t like their brother’s favorite restaurant on the planet got to eat their favorite food on the planet.

Even if it meant having to stop at another fast food drive-thru on the way.

Because mommy really is a sucker.

Cookies, even?

Call me an all-day-sucker.

Then we moved on to his favorite store on the planet.

For a little fun. And party supplies.

Nothing like waiting ’til the last minute, I always say.

A few swings and misses.

Thankfully no one was hurt in the making of this day-in-the-life birthday documentary.

Fast forward… time to par-tay!

Dalton chose to open his presents first.

As his sisters foraged for his present leftovers.

More gifts.

Another football jersey. Who’d have guessed?

Time for cake!

Dalton requested The Pioneer Woman’s Sheet Cake.

I think he’s got a crush on her.

I think I do, too.

Isabelle is strongly considering it as well.

The boys stopped eating just long enough to give a squeeze for the camera.

Even Shepherd couldn’t resist.

But Jude? He’s a whole ‘nother story.

He’d rather play with the gift card wrapper.

Happy 8th Birthday, Dalton. We love ya somethin’ awful.

OK – LOVE the Patriots jersey. Had no clue you were Pats fans. Don't show it to my boy who turned 11 this week, or he'll ask why HE didn't get one of those for HIS birthday. You also made me feel guilty and now I have to get around to posting pictures of HIS birthday celebration.

Is it me or do he & Asher look very much alike!! HANDSOME!!!

    I didn't realize Dalton's birthday is just 2 days before Kiara's!

Wait a minute…that means when we brought Kiara home, 4 years ago, & I already knew you almost a year, Dalton was about to turn 4!?!?! Oh my gosh, it really does fly by, doesn't it???

Happy birthday Dalton!! Looks like a wonderful day, including the favorite restaurant(s) on the planet. Ro and Ree would totally approve, by the way, they think McDonald's is the best place in the world (sigh…).

Happy birthday little man. Can I still call you little man? What a sweet sweet little dude! Looks like he had an awesome day! Happy day, dude!

and btw…coolest mom evah!!!!! I'm comin' that way when my birthday rolls around. And you know I'm gonna be wantin' me some P-dubs sheet cake. with a side of her apple dumplings. Is that so wrong?

and ummm…. p.s. why you gotta look like your 14? dude… you make things rough for us other mamas of many who might age about 5 years wtih each birth, and adoption. dude… cut it out already. photo shop yourself some bags under those eyes… and most definintly some worry wrinkles on the forhead. STAT! the other MOM's of many will turn on you, if you don't. I'm just sayin'.

    Hugs to all!

That looked like a super party. There is definitely a plus to having a big family. You don't have to invite anyone else. I like that.

Awww…I love that last photo of the three of you. ๐Ÿ™‚ Great pics! I never get mine to turn out that well indoors. Sigh…
Hey…we live 8 minutes from the Pats stadium, which is kind of a waste because none of us are Pats fans. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh…and I am totally jealous that your McD's has those yummy chocolate chip cookies, like we had in MI. For some reason, none of the McD's in our area of Mass. has chocolate chip cookies (probably just as well for my waistline.)
