prayers please

We’re down to the wire. And, shame on me, I’m a bit of a last-minute girl.

Our visas were completed last week, but due to the POA (power of attorney) that must go to China with me, I had the courier wait to send them all together. All set to arrive Tuesday. Plenty of time, right?

Turns out, there was a hiccup with our POA. Thankfully the couriers we used (Assistant Stork) know exactly what they’re doing and they were able to get the docs corrected and processed the next day.

So that would have our travel documents arriving today, right?

Wrong. I just found out that our little FedEx envelope happened to be on a plane that arrived a bit late last night. And didn’t make it’s *connection* in time. So our visas and POA won’t be arriving today. They’ll be arriving tomorrow.

I certainly hope (and pray!) so.

And, as an aside, please add my dumb tooth to your prayers as well. I had a filling re-filled a month ago and since then, chewing has been ridiculously painful.

So I went back to the dentist a second time and he filed it down a bit, hoping that would fix the problem.

No change.

So I went back today upon further inspection, it turns out that I now have a crack in my tooth. And I need a crown.

Tomorrow.

Did I mention that I have a real fear of dental work? Well, I do. And it’s pretty ugly.

All going back to a painful childhood incident involving a cavity, a drill, an idiot dentist and a shot of novacaine placed on the wrong side of my mouth.

Prayers would be most appreciated.

I'm praying for you! Lots going on!

When we went to China, our visas were mailed to our hotel in San Francisco–the night before we were leaving for China. Yep. Remember I live in Texas? Yea. I can relate to the stress that that can cause. But trust that the Lord has His mighty hand on it!!

    Sooo excited for you!!!!

Oh Stefanie! Bless your heart. It will all arrive on time! I just know it. And the tooth. I will pray that God heals your tooth in record time. Not a good way to start a China adventure trip. We are covering you in prayer. The enemy doesn't want you to get our Vivi so he is doing all he can.

    I will definitely be praying!!

Oh my, make sure you take some just in case dental adhesive with you for that temporary crown you will be sporting for the next few weeks – you can pick up some at a Wal*mart. My dentist also said that vaseline will hold a temp crown in a pinch if it comes out 'cause remember you gotta keep that thing in there. :0( I have four crowns from old dental work done in high school that is falling out now that I am almost 40! I feel for you so mucho! Get some mild pain meds for sure.
Can't wait to see pics of you holding Ms Vivi! Stay strong in the Lord!

Oh man…I HATE going to the dentist. We must have had the same idiot dentist because when I was a kid, my dentist drilled into an abcessed tooth (of course the novacaine was rendered powerless by the infection). He slapped me for screaming. I kid you not.

He must really trust you cuz He's giving you plenty to deal with right now. Take a deep breath, it'll all work out. psst…I'm with ya on the dentist thing, I need some serious nitrous when I go to relax me. Good luck!
