When I was trying to decide who to focus on for this week’s Sunday Snapshot, out of desperation my criteria were kept to a minimum.
I mean, there are only so many hours in a day. And Saturday is my day to get pictures. So, after a long morning out at a baseball game, and a messy lunch at Taco Bell I had to determine…
1. who looked the least ragged.
2. who was the least covered in nacho cheese.
Or, who looked the most normal when totally frazzled and/or covered in condiments.
On both counts, Isabelle won. Hands down.
So today is her day.
And looking good despite playing hard basically sums up our Isabelle. She doesn’t let much slow her down.
She lives every moment to the fullest.
Which is apparent considering her wish list for her next birthday.
And a big girl bike with a bell on the handlebars.
She reminds me of this nightly. Since January.
And wants me to recite to her that the goggles are to be green. And that her bike must have a bell.
She’s nothing if not tenacious.
She’s still delayed in a few areas.
But is showing signs of growing up too quickly in others.
For example, iCarly. Isabelle asks me daily if she can watch it, “pweeeease??”
Because she thinks iCarly is cool.
I think it’s best if we keep it to SpongeBob around here.
Isabelle is quite literal so we have to watch how we word things when she’s around. Those words might just come spilling out of her mouth at, well, inappropriate times.
We’ve worked on her social awareness by discussing ‘strangers’ at length. Now, when any well meaning Granny in W@lMart comes over to admire our kiddos, she’ll pipe up (in not-so-hushed tones), “Are you a STRANGER?”
Good thing she’s so cute. She can totally pull it off.
She is determined to create her own jokes.
On the fly.
Which = not so funny.
Because when we laugh, she laughs.
And how I love to see her smile.
She adores playing dress up and twirling around primly, like a self-proclaimed princess.
But don’t let the tiara and tulle fool you. She’s definitely got a wild streak.
She’s been known to slip into a skirt and a sleeveless top, run her hands down her sides and say, “Ooooh la la!“
No.
She’s never dating.
P.S. I’ve posted my most favorite pics from this Sunday in full size over at my photoblog. For fun.
P.P.S. If you’re participating (which I hope you are!), try to leave a few comments for the other participants. After all, this is a fun way to get to know each other, so be sure to share the love ๐
C’mon and join the fun! It’s really easy… just copy the code under the Sunday Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Sunday Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed. Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine ๐
Then add your link below.
To do this, go to your blog. Click on the title of your new Sunday Snapshot post. The new url in your browser window will be a direct link to your Sunday Snapshot post. Copy that url and paste it into the inLinkz window below. If it’s just a general link to your blog, I’ll have to remove it. And I hate that.
Feel free to link up on Monday if you’re too busy on Sunday. I’ll leave the inlinkz open through Monday night… because I know some folks who like to link up a little late ๐

Love EVERY PHOTO! Your description is wonderful and I just KNOW she is a hoot!
So darn cute!
I started a photo blog too – you are definitely an inspiration! can you give me some tips on how to get my pictures full size? I am using the new blogger formatting – which I can choose xlarge – but they are still much smaller than yours? Maybe the template? my photo blog is http://www.suzaereflections.blogspot.com
Your photos are GREAT! Kim
Well you've got to love a little girl who wants a new bike with a bell on it, and green googles. Isabelle is hilarious, what a sweetheart! Love all the pics! ๐
Hey Kim!
To get your pics really big, host them on flickr. Then, when you're on the page of the phot you want to insert into your post, click on 'all sizes' up in the top left corner. In the new window, underneath the picture you see a code for the 'large' size… just copy and past that into you blog and voilร ! Uber large pics ๐
I was showing these pics to my 3yo, Brijet, and she said, "Oh, I wanna play with huttle bell (little bell). Does she have toys?" I said sorry honey she lives in another state but we would if we could! LOL
Isabelle is absolutely precious, what a radiant smile she has! I don't think you'll have to worry about her dating with 3 older brothers to protect her.
forever forever i will have such a soft spot in my heart for Isabelle. at least all of these photos should be entered in the adoptive families mag contest.
so often she reminds me of Elle.
wow! the settings and your subject matter make for a set of striking photos. isabelle is simply precious!
love & blessings from hong kong,
kim
I LOVE those photos. You always inspire me to want to take the kids out and snap away…of course, I'm not so good at the follow thru! But one of these days I will get it done!
I love the fourth picture from the bottom, although they are all fantastic. Isabelle is a beautiful girl!
Your photography is divine. LOVE the second one on the grass with her head tipped to the side! So beautiful…
thou shall not covet– but MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN your backyard has a pond??(or is that a lake??!!) and it's green and lush… *sigh* she's a cutie!!
Super cute! I love how you take just ordinary things and make them into such great pic props.
I like how you mention that she tells jokes that aren't funny but you laugh anyway because it makes her happy.
My 3 year old son tells jokes that are not funny at all, but he's so gosh darn cute about telling jokes that I can't help but to laugh. It's all in the delivery and he's got it!
What a darling little girl she is!! I love the back drop in the pictures!! What body of water is that?? Lake, river?? Gorgeous!
wow she looks so pretty! to say that i'm shocked that mei turned out to be the least frazzled is an understatement. haha.
It is def super cool to be an identical twin. We still get quite a bit of attention when out and confuse little kids. We love when my kids get confused (which is not often and only when super tired/grumpy) and look forward to her having kids so we can compare our kids! LOL Being a twin is fun. I like getting to know other twins too.
These are adorable! She cracks me up!
Where did you take them? Just lovely Stephanie…I have my own LR pics this Sunday too~
I LOVE this post!!! Isabelle is one gorgeous beauty…inside & out!!
