Sunday Snapshot: {guess who}

You must have known who this Snapshot was going to be about.

My biggest boy.

I can not tell you how great it is to have him home for the summer.

Within arms reach.

And it was with great joy that I dragged him out late yesterday afternoon to my favorite picture-taking spot.

Great joy on my part, at least.

He was a trooper. And even though it was with no notice that I asked him join my camera and me, he threw on his flip flops and was ready to go.

Did I mention that this big lug used to be a serious mama’s boy?

I won’t go into it more than that, for fear of completely embarrassing him. But let’s just say he didn’t want to go anywhere unless his mama was going.

Or, unless it involved dirt, mud, and seeking out new adventures in faraway lands.

He used to do that, too.

He was barely old enough to reach the door handle when he figured out how to get the front door open.

And he’d be off, running up the long driveway toward the road.

With just the sound of the gravel under his feet to warn me.

Thankfully, I always found him in time to grab him.

And try to shake some sense into him.

Never did happen.

He was a fearless kid. Climbed everything in sight.

And almost never got hurt. The times he did get hurt, he just dusted himself off, and went right back at it.

He’s not that little tow-headed boy anymore.

In fact, he’s as tall as I am now.

Much to his relief.

I can’t help but get all sentimental when I see how much he’s changed since I last laid eyes on him…

knowing how much he’ll change again in the coming weeks,

months,

years.

Guess that just comes with the territory of being a momma.

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~ Elizabeth Stone

At least I’ve got him for the next two months.

********************************

And the really big winner from last week is Lula Lola. I dare you to read her post about her first born and not get misty…. and her pictures?!?

You gotta check it out.

To join in this week, just copy the code under the Sunday Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Sunday Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed. Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine πŸ™‚

Then add your link below.

To do this, go to your blog. Click on the title of your new Sunday Snapshot post. The new url in your browser window will be a direct link to your Sunday Snapshot post. Copy that url and paste it into the inLinkz window below. If it’s just a general link to your blog, I’ll have to remove it. And I hate that.

Feel free to link up on Monday if you’re too busy on Sunday. I’ll leave the inlinkz open through Monday night… because I know some folks who like to link up a little late. Like me πŸ™‚

Wow, I can't wait….well, sorta…until my boys are that big. I want to hug them around their waist just once….then they can go back to being little. Great SS…I'm happy for you to have him home this summer. Enjoy!

You must be so excited to have hime home! I know when my oldest daughter comes home from college she is always a sight for sore eyes..atleast for a day or so….lol!

Alas I do not have a Sunday Snapshot this week, I do however have an extremely messy house! I would take pictures-but they could be used for black mail by my dear hubby! So I will not be linking up to your previous post, just know I am with ya!!

You are so sweet! Thank you so much!
Your son is so handsome! In the sixth picture from the top, I can almost picture what he looked like as a little boy! They just grow up too stinking fast! But, like you said, it comes with the territory! I just don't know what we're supposed to do to prepare ourselves for it!
I was going to participate this week, but posted early, and wasn't sure how to get linked.(blogging dork speaking!)

Wow! What a change since the last posting of him. I'm sure he was very touched that we were all wondering where he went. It's great to see him again. Can I tell you that the photo of him leaning up against the worn red barn should be submitted somewhere…. for modeling purposes. He should think about that!
