meet the teacher

Today was our opportunity to “meet the teacher”.

As you can see, Sophie was pretty jazzed about the whole thing.

Or, to be honest, she was totally and completely jazzed. The girl loves to learn.

Right away, she fell in love with her new teacher.

And her new teacher’s paperweight collection.

Dalton? Not so much.

Although he did manage to score an assigned seat next to and across from a couple of kids he knew last year.

Isabelle? She’s a mess.

She can’t wait because she loves school. But she’s nervous to start all over again… new teacher, new room, new classmates.

But this year? Isabelle is the big sister.

So she took it upon herself to escort her little brother down the hallway to HIS new class.

Jude?

I don’t wanna talk about it. My stomach does flips just thinking about sending him to school.

And so far, he’s not faring much better. I do have a new Thomas the Train tucked away for some hard-core bribery. If necessary.

Thankfully his first day isn’t until Thursday.

Tomorrow, school starts for everyone else.

Come Thursday, it’ll just be Vivienne, Shepherd and me.

I won’t know what I’ll do with myself.

Groan…how can summer be over already? Our kids start next week and I am still in denial.

Totally adorable! πŸ™‚ Our kiddos start school next Tuesday and our oldest has been worrying about 2nd grade for um….all summer. Our second child can barely contain her excitement until prek starts. πŸ˜‰ I noticed Dalton has Everyday Math books on his desk. Eeek. πŸ˜‰ I teach Everyday Math to 3rd graders and it's quite a bit different than how "we" learned it. πŸ™‚

I dunno – I'll bet you can think of something to fill your time!

Still – it's hard to watch them leave…

    hugs – aus and co.

I love the photo of Isabelle walking Jude down the hall. What a scary time for him, but how wonderful to know he's not alone in that big, new place.

The Tongginator cried every afternoon her first three days of school. I can't even talk about it yet. We almost missed the bus this morning because she was dragging so much.

It's a far cry from last year, when she was all smiles and the first one to the bus stop every morning.

I sent my littles off 2 1/2 weeks ago to preschool for the very first time. They're much to young… for me that is. It was just awful… for all of us that is. But 2 1/2 weeks later, they LOVE it, and I LOVE it, and it's going SO well! They come home happy and dirty and tired! And the house is cleaner and the laundry is caught up!
