All said and done, we got about 20″ of snow.
And the kids were pretty confident that they’d have another snow day today.
They’re clearly not used to living this far north.
The storm was over. The roads were plowed.
Back to a typical New England winter, 20″ of snow later.
Needless to say, the kiddos were pretty bummed. They’d have certainly preferred to be gearing up to go out and play in the snow.
Not wait on the bus.
And how did I take the news that there would, in fact, be school today?
Let’s just say, I am managing my grief pretty well.
It was a positively glorious morning, though.
And once we were outside and surveying the winter wonderland around us, it was pretty hard not to smile.
Just a very quick survey, though.
Deposited kiddos on the bus.
Then Jude and I hustled back inside.
And no, Vivienne did not want to come outside to play today.
Hopefully by spring…

And we got four inches and the schools have been closed all week!
LOL!
20 inches? Insane! I think I would go into hibernation!
It sure is beautiful, though. And your kiddos just add the perfect touch of color and personality to a white landscape! π

Dude!!! Just how far north are you??? We live in Colorado and just a mere 3 inches cancels school!!!!
And ps– what about the news???? Still hanging!! Thread getting a mite thin here!!!!
Do the words " special focus" have anything to do with it????

I just need to move south. Think Mile Marker 1. Key West.

We got 20 inches too, and we are also in New England! I didn't know you were up here. π But we were canceled again today, but I am sure we will go tomorrow!

20 inches of snow…we got 4 and I was thinking that was plenty. 20 inches! Eeek! π Have a wonderful day! π

We have four inches and the roads are still covered. School has been closed all week. Here in the south we clearly do not know how to deal with snow.
Blessings,
Robin

Same thing happens here- it is so disappointing ;-(
The equipment is too good! They hardly ever cancel school.
Except for the fact that we homeschool so I suppose it doesn't matter π
Hold it- I don't even cancel school on those days! Just an early dismissal!!
mom2-4boys says
You must be close by, we had about 20" too!!! But we did have a 2 hour delay this morning!!! You gotta love New England!!! Actually not much keeps us Northerners from getting were we need to be!!!
News…. Sorry I overheard someone say news… Oh do tell!!!
Aus says
We consider it 'balmy' here in Cincy – just 6" on this one and temp's hanging in the 20's…unlike my time in Michigan where folks keep snowmobiles as their '2nd cars' – and many home have two doors – a summer door on ground level and a winter door something above that! π
and like the rest – waiting here Stef – waiting…..
hugs – aus and co.

I found your blog from the Pioneer Women's favorites list and I can see why – it's so inspiring. I have an adopted korean sister (and another adopted brother who died). I've lived in Taiwan so speak some Mandarin although I've forgotten a lot. We also spent a year in Africa and worked a lot with the orphans there. So many things in this blog resonate with me. What an amazing life to be so incredibly involved in adoption. After all, we're all adopted into the family of God.

My husband and son who are teachers always wish for a snow day – proably even more than their students do! Hee, hee. In Indiana we hope for a snow day with 5 – 7". Oh my – 20" and still school?!!
Christine says
Wow that is alot of snow! WE hope to get a dusting sometime this winter!

Wow! I can't imagine 20 inches. Our 4 to 6 in Atlanta basically shut the city down for a week. Happy one year anniversary that Vivienne has been home! Can't wait to hear your news. Are you closer to getting Poppy?
Hope all is well with you and your sweet crew.
Blessings,
Kathie
