Sunday Snapshot: {Sophie Lulu}

Yesterday was Sophie’s day.

Okay. Not really Sophie’s day.

Sophie’s afternoon.

Okay. Sophie’s rapidly disappearing-so-we-had-to-hustle-to-get-these-pictures-in afternoon.

But all’s well that ends well. Right?

Well, Sophie thought so.

She happily jumped up and grabbed her shoes before the words were even out of my mouth, “Want to put on your new shirt and take some pictures?”

And even though it was last minute, and a bit chilly still, this girl shines anywhere.

Once you get under that slightly self-aware exterior.

In the last year or so, Sophie’s been getting more brazen.

More comfortable in her own skin.

Which is a really, really beautiful thing.

And helpful, too. Especially in a house this full of brothers and sisters.

Over the years, Sophie has occasionally voiced her desire to be an only child. Usually after a spat with a sibling.

She is truly an old soul and from the beginning, seems to prefer the company of adults. And she’s happy to get all the attention too, if possible.

But I think this crazy, big ol’ family is slowly winning her over.

One day at a time.

Love you, my beautiful Sophie Lulu!

Sophie is gorgeous and just wow. You capture some really wonderful shots. If you’re ever around here where I live, I want to watch you in action so I can learn how to take better photos.

Wow I can’t believe how much she has ‘grown up’ in the last year since I got to meet her! She is such a beautiful girl – inside and out! And I just love her new shirt! ๐Ÿ™‚

Precious!! We have one of those ‘wishing to be an only child’ kids, tough when you are one of many ๐Ÿ˜‰
At least we can give them some individual time here and there.
It is starting to look like Spring in there!! We chased after winter and came to Northern Maine, and are still enjoying snow – got an inch last night too. But we are now ready for Spring too..

My goodness is she beautiful! My daughter will do the same “only child” bit sometimes, but then a minute later will say she wants another brother and a baby sister ๐Ÿ˜€ Her shirt is so cute too!

Why does she look so grown up all of the sudden? Please tell her to stop ๐Ÿ™‚

What a sweet girl! I too have a kiddos that prefers less children. Thankfully it’s my oldest and with age comes independence so that helps. Love her t-shirt too!

    Hi Stephani,
Can you please tell me where you got that t-shirt? I went to wild olive tees and could find similar ones, but not that one. I like the colors and I like that it does not hug her body…it has more of the straight cut for little girls.
    Thanks!!

      Hey Jeannie!
      It’s right here: http://store.wildolivetees.com/by-grace—girls-p272.aspx
The mock up on the WO site (we’re waiting for the real picture to be put up on the site) make it look curvy, but it’s not. The only one on the site is the one Sophie Lu is wearing ๐Ÿ™‚

I have one who occasionally voices her wish to be an only too. Then I just wink and remind her that she’s the one that told me about her sister…
    Sophie is just beautiful!
