closer

We have hit a major milestone.

Our Article 5 was issued today.

Which probably doesn’t mean a whole lot to most of y’all.

But it’s a pretty big deal in the world of adoption.

It’s the step right before TA, which happens right before you get your CA, which happens right before you buy your plane tickets, lose sleep from the excitement and begin to recklessly over-pack.

In other words, it means that we are one big step closer to bringing Miss Poppy G home.

Honestly, we are heaving a huge sigh of relief because, before today, we were not sure our USC1S issue was resolved.

And today, with news of our Article 5, we are expecting to be in China in 8 weeks.

Or less.

Makes my tummy do flip flops.

I can so not wait to hold that little bundle of cuteness in my arms.

Congratulations. That’s very exciting. I’ve followed you on and off for several years, so several adoptions now. I am curious, and I really do mean no disrespect-you are a great mother and your love for your children is amazing; but do you think you’re done after Poppy? I can’t imagine how hard it is to make sure every child gets time with you alone. the logistics of getting them all in a car is mind boggling to me!

Is there a point where you say ok that’s really it or is there always a ‘just one more’ in your heart?

I hope you get to Poppy in 8 weeks or less. She’s just beautiful.

What a blessing to receive! The photo of your sweetpea and her friend is so precious. I could just about frame it and they are not even my daughters! It emminates so much in how it is captures a moment in time. I love the tender way the little one seems to be encouraging Poppy–the touch on her sleeve … those soulful eyes that Poppy has in response … the little guiding lean and of course the hand of the care-giver supporting. Are you sure you didn’t fly there and take the photo because it sure looks pretty wonderful! I look forward to your travel and reading about real stories behind those beautiful eyes. And it will be before school starts! Kick-butt! (Can I say that on here?)
    * I wore my SO LOVED T-shirt yesterday btw–must send that photo as an encouragement to you I am reminded! I do love that Tee and all that it stands for. I pray that your travels will be filled with much, much love and not too much bitter sweetness in missing Esther. You will carry her in your heart I know.

Good news for you about your Article 5. We are a step behind you once more as we await our Article 5. Just sent in our DS-230 this week. You may not remember this, but with your last two adoptions we were just a step behind you on each. We, too, are an MAW family, and our Journey to Philip is just after your Journey to Shepherd. It was your Journey to Jude and Linny’s journey to her Isaiah that led us to look at special needs and boys, and look where we went – two amazing little sons to love already home and waiting for our sweet daughter later this summer.

Praying for your family as you prepare to travel in this joyous, and yet bittersweet, time for you all.

Hugs from our family to yours,
janet, kevin, ted, philip, elijah, and awaiting sophia yilin
